- What do we know about LHR 3.0 so far? When?
- Today I’m reminded of the importance of unplugging the power supply before working on a rig. I’ve only been an electronics engineer for 10 years. How was I supposed to know?!? Fried PSU and Motherboard (Hopefully that’s all)

What do we know about LHR 3.0 so far? When? Posted: 25 Aug 2021 03:18 AM PDT I heard that LHR 3.0 is going to lock even more coins like RVN, ERGO, FIRO... This is gonna be not good but do we know when they are going to be released? I think still we should be able to find at least lhr v1-v2 cards to mine RVN or ERGO used like from eBay, right? Let's make this post an informative one for whoever searches. Cheers. [link] [comments]

How much does vbios effect power draw? Posted: 25 Aug 2021 08:07 AM PDT Say I've got two cards of the same type from different AIB's, similar spec level. One pulls about 10% more power (software) to get to the same clock speed and hash rate, also runs hotter. How much of this is caused by the actual pcb design, how much is the bios, and how much could be just the bios misreading power draw of the PCIe cables (known issue)? It seems like a large variation. I'm going to have to put them on the watt meter and compare how much they draw at the wall. [link] [comments]

Tuner Tool Update (CFX, ERG, ETH, RVN) Posted: 24 Aug 2021 02:07 PM PDT Updated the tuner tool to now support CFX, ERG, ETH and RVN. Also supports power limit now, so that should be the complete spectrum of possibilities :) Please, if you try it out, let me know what can be done better. I am also open for feature requests. I have mainly used it for ERG on my RTX 3070's (LHR) and RTX 3080 TI, to find good and stable overclockers / underclocks. My time is limited and it simply takes me too long to tune multiple cards like the RTX 3080 TI in ERGO, so I made this tool. I expanded upon it, because of requests. Ps. The ugly UI is by design, so you go do important stuff while it finds the best settings for your GPU ;) [link] [comments]
HELP! Sandy Bridge Dual 3070 Error Code 12 - Device resources Posted: 25 Aug 2021 01:29 AM PDT HELP! Error Code 12 - Device Not enough Free Resources Been mining for months now on my desktop/gaming PC, with 2x3070 FE Bought a mining frame to move both cards on to. Windows 10. CPU is a i7-2600k on Intel DP67BG motherboard. I used to run SLI 980's on this years ago no problem. But... Both cards work individually with the board, in 1x risers or PCIEx16 1 or PCIEx16 2 However when using both cards, again in either x16 slots, x1 slots or Risers, only 1 GPU works. The other has a warning triangle ⚠️ in device manager: "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use (Code 12)" I have Googled fixes extensively. My BIOS has no option to enable 4G decoding, or any PCIE options at all. Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling drivers for both multiple times and multiple different drivers. Have allocated more virtual memory up to 16gb. Have tried Reg edits. Any help is much appreciated. UPDATE: 3070 + GTX 980 working as normal together. Still no 3070 + 3070. Very odd [link] [comments]
Replaced thermal pads/paste on Asus Tuf 3090 and seeing WORSE temperatures. What did I do wrong? Posted: 24 Aug 2021 09:41 PM PDT Hello everyone! So I believe I am literally frying my graphics card, and I've no choice but to throw my hands at the mercy of you guys for any help. I currently solo mine ETH using NiceHash (bad, I know) using my Asus TUF RTX 3090. I wanted to achieve better temps when mining as I usually keep the rig going 24/7, so I decided to attempt to change the thermal pads and the thermal paste on the GPU die. For the thermal pads, I used Thermalright Extreme Odyssey 12.8W/mK thermal pads in the 1.5mm and 3mm sizes, and for the thermal paste I used Noctua NT-H1 Pro-Grade thermal compound. Here is a picture of my card after replacing the thermal pads and paste: Here is a picture with the Shroud on showing its pad placement: https://imgur.com/a/eeVkdtO I followed this guide for the sizing of the pads and the thickness: However, I was previously going to refer to this guide instead, and noticed that the pad thicknesses were different: Anyways, after replacing the thermal paste and the pads, I saw my temperatures rise significantly to the point where I can not use the card to mine. Before: GPU temp = ~63-67c After: GPU temp = ~72-80c These are the temperatures I am seeing in NiceHash running dagger-hashimoto on the Medium optimization setting. Immediately my card will thermal throttle. Switching to Lite will see my temperatures run slightly better, but my card will still thermal throttle after enough time. Could anyone here help explain why I am seeing such significantly worse temperatures after changing the pads and the paste? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am at a loss here I can't figure out what I did wrong 😅 Thank you guys! Happy mining! [link] [comments]
