When will bitcoin.com wallet be open source?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 09:16 PM PDT

Its very easy to use and beginner friendly, but I don't like recommending non FLOSS wallets to newcomers, as it kind of goes against the whole point of bitcoin.

Why isn't bitcoin.com wallet open source?

I have onboarded 3 persons on Bitcoin Cash yesterday, and one guy was saying that the real Bitcoin is better. So I was thinking how to simply explain an average person why the real Bitcoin is Bitcoin Cash and came up with an idea that I'd like to share with you.

    Posted: 10 Aug 2021 01:21 AM PDT

"If you take a bottle of milk with a brand and put some coca cola in it, will it be the same milk, only because of the brand name?"

It's more important what is inside, not what is outside.

BTC took the brand name, and has changed the code, the protocol design, but that didn't help in scaling, this changes still resulted with a limited capacity that makes Bitcoin unusable by majority of people, due to limits that create high fees and long confirmation time, it all makes BTC unusable as a worldwide payment system and pushes people to use second layer solutions and alternatives or trusted third parties which Bitcoin was invented to prevent. BTC narrative supporters don't want people to pay attention on code changes and market BTC as the conservative chain which keeps the original code. In reality, SegWit, segregating signatures from the blocks, which breaks the chain of digital signatures, the very definition of Bitcoin, also RBF feature that makes transactions easily reversible, which goes against the Bitcoin design described in whitepaper, taproot which reveals sender and recipient addresses has changed BTC enough to at least say it is not so conservative.

Bitcoin Cash has increased the block size and it is being marketed as a code change, but the code/design remained the same with capacity increase and most importantly keep Bitcoin as a peer to peer electronic cash system for payments as described in whitepaper.

Anyone have any news on Anyhedge for SmartBCH?

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 02:39 PM PDT

The protocol looks like a real game changer for BCH but uses Detoken online wallet which denies me access as I am in the US. Is this because SmartBCH is brand new or does it have something to do with KYC laws? Any info is much appreciated.

Update on my stuck FLEX slp tokens on Bitcoin.com exchange.

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 10:32 AM PDT

After being stuck for about a week. (while the price of FLEX kept going up and I could not sell because of lack of liquidity and neither could I send because their SLP infrastructure has been down for a long time now)

Well today they reached out to me with an offer to buy the Flex themselves and give me BCH for it. They bought at coinflex market prices. (currently about $1.06) After I got the BCH I have withdrawn it and am sending it to coinflex to buy my FLEX back there. (cause I think FLEX is still going to go up lots, I think it will hit 3 dollars before the end of the year)

They have also said they are reaching out to everybody with stuck SLP tokens with similar offers.

What have we learned from this?

That SLP infrastructure is a total bitch to maintain and hardly makes any exchanges money.

And that if you are not in charge of your own infra (BCE used HitBTC) and something like SLP breaks it can be completely out of your control getting it back.

So if you have stuck SLP tokens on BCE you should be getting an email.

SmartBCH where are you? Miner valitated tokens, where are you guys?

    Cryptocurrency Merchant Adoption

    Posted: 09 Aug 2021 12:58 PM PDT

    Hi everybody,

I would like to know if there is any data which cryptocurrencies are mostly adopted by merchants.

Does anybody know a link to a map which list Merchants accepting different cryptocurrencies? I found https://map.bitcoin.com but it only list BTC, BCH, ETH. Is there a map which als includes other cryptocurrencies like LTC and Monero ?

Is there any information which cryptocurrencies are mostly adopted by merchants or which cryptocurrencies are actually used and not only stored or moved from Exchange to Exchange.

I only found bitpay stats but they only include BTC, ETH, BCH, Doge and XRP. Are there any data which compare LTC and bCH use ?

    Thank you :)
