The Future of CeFi? CeFi incorporated with DeFi. Can they both co-exist?

I came across this article about CeFi being incorporated with DeFi. And it made me curious if both of them could coexist or merge? Binance, with its BSC, provides CeDeFi, or centralized decentralized financial services. The blockchain is decentralized and capable of hosting various DeFi implementations. I've seen this possible with Celsius with Chainlink.

Aside from the possible CeDeFi happening, I've also seen some good news with CeFi with the growth of companies like Haru Invest and Voyager as well.

Compared to the ETH blockchain though, transaction fees are also a lot lower, and to add, there is customer service if ever you lose your transaction. So I can see how it makes sense from the standpoint of a consumer who wants to contact a centralized organization. Especially if there are no compelling ideological reasons to resist.

In DeFi, everyone contributes to these peer-to-peer networks. Decentralization and peer-governance are, of course, the primary advantages. The disadvantage is that if your money is lost, you have no one to blame. Many folks who lack technical expertise or time might benefit from centralized help.

I thought I'd point out the difference between each and let you decide which one you think it's best. What are your thoughts on this so far?

How much control does Blockstream actually hold over Core?

    Posted: 22 Aug 2021 10:33 PM PDT

(skip to the last paragraph if you don't want to read my rambling)

Greetings. I am someone who joined the Bitcoin community shortly after the fork, and as such, my knowledge is limited and all I've learned were from doing my own research (which mostly led me to this sub).

When I joined the Bitcoin community, my initial impression of BCH was that this was a chinese scam led by devil Roger Ver who wanted to centralize the network for personal gain. Damn, I fell completely for Core's propaganda. And with information not being so easy to access -- you have to specifically look for it to find it -- I've had this impression of this community for years.

That changed in early january this year, when something sparked my curiosity and made me leave my comfort zone and do research to know better. The research eventually led me to this sub, and the information presented in the FAQ and in other old threads freed me from Core's grasp.

I love the idea behind cryptocurrencies and I relate to Satoshi's original vision when he invented Bitcoin. To have a fair monetary system out of the control of bankers or other entities. I would most likely not have found this sub and I wouldn't know better if it wasn't for my curiosity and enthusiasm.

However, a lot of the information that I've been gathering to better understand the situation are a few years old. And here I make the question, how much control does Blockstream actually hold over Core today? Are there other entities aside from Blockstream which seeks to profit off what Bitcoin cannot do?

Found this Youtube video released Aug 20th 2021 that already has 320k views. It basically gives the best representation of BCH I have seen so far. Very noob friendly.

You'll be sold on the video within the first 80 seconds, probably sooner.

Sending a small amount of money with BTC is possible using the Lightning Network, but it's really incredibly simpler with BCH... you just send it.

I've been reading a lot about Lightning and how it allows to send small amounts of money using BTC with low fees and fast.

It actually works quite nicely once you have everything setup, and it's fast with cheap fees (once you already paid for the channel opening). It's a bit tricky to get all the moving parts setup though.

With BCH there's nothing to setup, you just send it. No need to open a different wallet or do anything special. It's night and day.
