GPU's @ MSRP! My Exp and Advice! Posted: 01 Jul 2021 10:11 AM PDT Posted this in r/cpubuild (https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/oaiatf/get_gpus_msrp_my_advice_and_exp/) but they were rather salty about me having taken a whole 6 gpus from the hands of gamers who dont actually want to put any effort in obtaining cards... soo figured id post this where it could actually get some good done. Note: Remember we got 2.0 earliest November to Q1 2022! With some real rough math thats gonna be any cards over $600 not making ROI!! on ETH at least//. But yes. There will be other things to mine. With THAT said.. Here is how i did it: Step 1: Join these Discords, Turn on Notifications! (Works best via Browser on PC imo) Microcenter Fan Discord - https://discord.gg/ufmcds (Get access to your local/nearby Microcenter channels. Figure out how their GPU sales work and Stock Patterns to help you get a Card) <--- Got me 1 GPU InStockAlert_DataLover - https://discord.gg/tAhjFHSP (Online Stock Notifications for major retailers) <--- Got me 1 GPU Fixit Drop & Tech - https://discord.gg/akddjWTm (Online Stock Notifications for major retailers) <---- Got me 2 GPUs Next Gen Tech - https://discord.gg/HVfkWzww (Online Stock Notifications for EVGA Bstock + Zotac Que Links, Non Scalped GPU sales, Shuffle) <---- Got me 4 GPUs Step 2: Create accounts and add shipping/CreditCard info for all major retailers, Paypal, and Apple Pay. Best Chances: Bestbuy – Drops every 2 weeks daily from 9am cst to 12:30 cst. Mostly on Thursdays and Fridays. Notifications in all discords. Zotac Store – Drops nearly every business day alternating from 9-10:30 pm cst to 3-4:30 am cst. Currently using QUE iT system. Links to low spots in Que via NGT discord EVGA Bstock – Drops every 2 weeks of 30s, 20s, and 10s series cards. Notifications in NGT discord. EVGA – Que system. Never too late to sign up. With new LHR cards Que may be shorter. Antonline – Occasional EVGA Bundles. Bit pricy, but good value if you need monitor and/or other items. Others: Walmart – Heavily Botted. But you can get links to specific non scalped cards and still get cards on large drops. Drops are in waves. Go to card you want... and get ready. Gamestop – Occasional Bundles Office Depot- Heavily botted. But cards usually drop in groups waves. Can be smart about it. Sim to Walmart. Staples – Heavily Botted. But cards usually drop in groups waves. Can be smart about it. Sim to Walmart. Amazon – Drops all day everyday. Bots always win. Occasionally there is a large enough drop that can be done manual... Use ATC links in Discord. B&Hphotovideo – Supposed Que System. Andorama – Occasional Bundles Step 3: Organize Bookmarks in folders for the specific cards you are targeting and/or the pages required for checkout. Add cards to "lists" if sites allow it and book mark those. I downloaded the Brave Browser and set it up solely for GPU hunt. Example: Here are the important links you would want to bookmark for the walkthrough for Zotac store: (note this may be outdated by the time you read this. Get updated walkthroughs from discord groups) From start to finish - (Best to try and stay logged in ALL day. Logout is ~30 min timer. Could at least try and stay logged in Prior to potential drop.)
(If not logged in. You gotta wait for the reCapta window to load before logging in. Refresh page or click new account and back to trigger it to load)
(Before Proceeding you got to wait or refresh page until the shipping info at the bottom load its windows. Sometimes you can trigger this by hitting refresh cart)
(page may need a few refreshes. Just hit it while spinning circle and it should go eventually)
(if it gets stuck on processing its okay to go ahead and hit the review link above button)
Done! (You can skip steps 3&4 by pre loading the shipping with a Tshirt. But you have to add a step of removing the shirt before purchase. I prefer to do this) Step 4: Get familiar with the Discord communities and company drop patterns! The more familiar you are the faster you are! Remember if you get a notification for a card you don't want. Still go to that site for the cards you do want. Usually you get there before others/bots! I got my first card from a BB drop 3 days after joining Fixit's Discord back in March. In the last Month I've gotten one about every other week. Now that I'm done I thought id share my experience to help others! I know most yall prob got your own system down.. but please share any other advice for those still looking to complete their rigs!! GOOD LUCK! [link] [comments]

T-rex set fan speed by command line but the value is changing over time? Posted: 01 Jul 2021 07:31 PM PDT For some reason with the latest t-rex, if i set the fan speed to say 81, it seems the value is changing over time in the command window, im unsure why. At first i thought it was afterburner, so i closed it, but the same thing continues. Anyone else ran into this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Jul 2021 07:15 PM PDT Do you guys think GPU prices could hit ATH if it is confirmed that the EIP1559's 2eth+ tips structure were to just stagnate the profits of today? I can imagine there will be a lot of cannibalization of GPUs. Especially after being told constantly by FUD people that profits were going to go below electricity lmao [link] [comments]

Where are people getting this idea that alt-coins will remain profitable after Ethereum goes PoS? Posted: 01 Jul 2021 01:07 PM PDT There is no alt-coin, at the current prices, that can absorb even a small fraction of Ethereum hash rate and remain profitable. Even getting your electricity costs back will probably be a pipe dream. Seems tons of people think that the good times for alt coins are going to keep on keeping on after Eth goes PoS. GIGABYTE-H110-D3A Motherboard max. Supported GPU count Posted: 01 Jul 2021 02:36 PM PDT Hi, I have GA-H110-D3A motherboard which has 1 x16, and 5 x1 pcie slots; total 6 pcie slots. I want to use 9-10 GPUs with this moboard. I have seen people using 9-12 GPUs with pcie express (x1 to x4 pcie extender). But when i connect 7-8 gpus I start getting random errors in hiveos. Right now it runs with 6 gpus. No riser, no power cable, no pcie slots are damaged. All gpus work separately as expected. Any specific settings, or solution I can apply to make it work with more number of GPUs. Settings I already changed. - mining mode enabled - above 4g enabled - initial display switched to igfx - max link speed set to gen2 (tried w gen1 as well) [link] [comments]
Q for those who have tried it: how stable (or unstable) is 470.05 in regular PC use? Posted: 01 Jul 2021 12:44 PM PDT I'm thinking of moving my nerfed RTX cards to my file server PC (which stays on 24/7 anyway) and letting it mine too… but not sure if this little endeavor would get me a crashing server. Using NH's Quickminer for now, if that matters. [link] [comments]

Safe ggdr6x long term memory mining temperatures? Posted: 30 Jun 2021 03:49 PM PDT Title basically. What is the accepted 24/7 run mining acceptable top end temperature for the memory?(without incurring much long term damage and burning it to a crisp) I watched some videos and people are saying 95 celsius. That true? [link] [comments]

Best mining motherboard for 4 3060's Posted: 30 Jun 2021 12:42 PM PDT It would help if the mb has a cpu built in but if not, whats a good motherboard to hold a couple of 3060s [link] [comments]
Integrated gpus will not stay selected as primary any suggestions appreciated. Posted: 30 Jun 2021 11:16 AM PDT I have been struggling with this with 3 different motherboards from 3 different manufacturers. I'm well aware of selecting the IGPU as primary in bios, but it doesn't seem to hold. I get the igpu running the display, but adding a new riser/card or rebooting always seems to mess things up and end up blackscreen, hard rebooting, bios resetting etc etc. I have tried every iteration of card and pcie slot combos I can think of. I've gotten one asus tuf 550 mobo to run with three cards from the igpu, afraid to add any more. One gigabyte 450 i gave up and just run the display off a card in the primary pcie. A dell xps mobo i can get to run one card on a riser, but have tried multiple times to add a second card/riser and get blackscreen, even trying to use a card in the primary pcie for display instead of igpu. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
