    3080ti Ergo hashrate unstable (likely due to Pstate) fix?

    I'm currently running a 3080ti undervolting to 0.850mV @1605MHz and it's giving me 235MH stable.

    I tried these modification:

    0.850 @ 1605MHz: + 1000 mem - 10002MHz - 260MH - 240w + 500 mem - 9752MHz - 240w

    0.775 @ 1200MHz -230MH: + 0 mem - 200w

    And a bunch of other configuration but all of them running into a problem that my hashrate will tank down to say 190 160MH and the power draw will also tank down around 50W at the same time. And it's not truly random but will have a pattern on the graph like a square sine wave.

    And it wasn't the oc that's making it this way. I can turn from a higher oc to a lower one and will trigger it then change back to the higher oc and will still trigger it. Sometimes an oc will run fine for a few hours before this happen and messing around with Afterburner will fixed it before it happen again. I have test with mem and core oc/undervolt.

    What got me to think it was a powerstate problem is when I test it extensively, I see this strange behavior.

    I have Afterburner and the terminal with NBminer open. Clicking on after burner anywhere and keep focus there can hold my OC, but then click outside or into the terminal will drop it. I try some other app instead of Afterburner like visual studio or firefox and can replicate this. I tried this a lot and it always work. BUT randomly, an app that was manage to keep the hashrate up might not work after sometime or at all at other time I test.

    Running it on stock is rock stable.

    I see that a lot of people are not reporting this behavior with their 3080ti so I was wondering what's going on and what I can do to fix this.

    Mem junction never past 90 Core temp never past 70

    Block rewards after EIP 1559

    I know questions about EIP 1559 get asked daily, so I will keep it short and sweet.

    I read on previous thread which I can't find anymore, that EIP will limit the block reward to 2 ETH and it was currently 2.2 ETH at the time I read that post.

    This means mining rewards will only take a slight decrease, is this true?

    does a switch from x8 to x16 provide any performance boost while mining?

    I looked on various forums online regarding this question and have only found answers regarding gaming. I have a single 1660ti and I use it for mining and gaming. It is currently running at x8 and I want to know whether it is worth it to switch to x16 in regard to mining. I have a b540 Asus rog strix gaming motherboard if that helps

    Finally able to share my almost 1gh/s rig!

    I started building this around December, at first I just had a few cases full of cards here but as I grew crazier and grinded my way through deals on my cards, I eventually got around to buying a BTC 37 from Amazon, and as I gained more cards, got one of these 1 to 4 PCIE multipliers to branch more cards of it, here. As I kept finding deals, be it GPU's by themselves used or MSRP, or bying local whole systems and reflipping the rest after I took the GPU out, I gained enough more to justify a second BTC S37 (for better spacing) and have built this monster. Except for 2 of my GPU's, which I only payed about $100 over MSRP, I got them all mostly under MSRP except the few 3070s I got for MSRP exactly. Im at roughly 930 mh/s including the 3080 in my gaming PC, and when I get my last RX 5700xt back from RMA and do some tuning I'll finally be at 1 gh/s!

    I know my current layout is atrocious, I spent roughly half an hour on this and then went back to busy life so I still need to come back around to learning how to bios flash these and tune them more, but as of right now, this is my life, plus the 95mh/s my 3080 is giving me on nice hash. I dont remember how much power at the wall all of this plus the fans was, but it was the ballpark of 2350w, but where I am, electric is 5 cent per kw/h soooooo

    As of now, Im trying not to spend any more money on it so I think Ill keep my current setup and not get a grow tent like I saw some other people doing, my temps arent too bad except the couple cards I need to repaste and repad.

    Maximum GPUs for Specific Motherboards?

    Wasn't sure how to figure this out. But recently one of rigs has been having issues.

    It is running an ASUS TUF x570 Motherboard with a 3900X CPU that has had 5 RTX 3080s on it running 24/7 with no issue until I tried to add a 6th GPU. I read somewhere on the forum that each motherboard only has so many PCI lanes it can use. How do I figure out if I have hit the max on this motherboard?

    For the record, yes, 5G decoding is enabled

    What should someone charge for building rigs, tech support.

    I sold a rig and a few cards to someone on offerup. Now he is asking me to build him another rig (he has all the hardware) and for some tech support on other rigs. Less that $75 an hour doesn't really seem worth my time to give up my days off. Is this knowledge specialized enough to be worth $100 an hour?

    USB Ext Cable for PCI Riser

    I'm doing a bit of a custom mining rig. One of my GPUs attached to a riser is not longer enough to reach the motherboard.

    Can I just use any USB cable that is longer or is there a special type of USB cable I need to connect the riser to the motherboard PCI board?

    I'm very proud of the first mining rig I've made by scratch. it's not much but awesome to see it running and mining. most of the equipment I used was spare building materials I've had lying around the house. I've had it stationed at my parent's place as they have solar power and I've been paying them market rates for power (.08 KW/h

    The picture doesn't include the new GPU's I've been using just my old r9 280x I've been using for measuring out spacing!

    but now I got myself 3 GPU's 2 RX 580's and a 1660 super. hash rates have been consistent around 95 using Phoneix miner

    I was very grateful as I could use a lot of spare components to keep pricing down! used an Fx-6300 and the motherboard has 5 PCIe slots
