Posted: 31 Jul 2021 04:19 AM PDT Hi all, Is it possible to set up one mining bat per GPU? I've got a dual GPU rig, and won't be using both for gaming, so I'd like to keep one mining 24/7 and the other mining when not gaming - is it possible to set up one per GPU, or is there a better way of doing it? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:13 AM PDT I have 7 x RTX 3080 FE, and 1 x RTX 3090 FE cards that I use for mining ETH at the moment. Out of the box, the temperatures were way too hot... so I did the thermal pad swap on all of them. This helped. However, I have noticed that slight variations in the manufacturing of the cards has made a BIG difference operating temperatures... example: after changing all of the thermal pads (1.5mm Gelid Ultimate) the memory temperature would still be super high on some cards. On closer inspection I saw that some of the new thermal pads were not making good contact (there was no impression of the VRAM, so not transferring heat). No problem, I swapped out for 2.0 mm thermal pads (also Gelid Ultimate). NOPE! Now the GPU is not making good contact and the GPU temperature went up. In most cases, I was able to identify the offending chip and just use the 2.0 mm thermal pads on them... but I have a couple of cards that are being 'stubborn' with getting the correct thickness of thermal pads and still allowing proper contact for the GPU. With the correct contact on both, I get a GPU temp that ranges from 50-56 degrees, and VRAM that ranges from 74-80 degrees. The lower ranges are evening to morning when it is cooler, and the upper range is during the middle of the day when it is hot in my shop. The Gelid Ultimate cards transfer heat great, but they don't compress well... and I use Artic Silver for the GPU, and it works great when you have good contact. So, what I need is something more compressible, that transfers heat well, that I could use for both the VRAM and GPU alike. I've googled and found some suggestions, but I'm wondering if anyone here has any real world experience that may be helpful. Let me know what you think. [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 Jul 2021 05:19 AM PDT Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help me come to the final conclusion of what is causing this 6-10 mh/s drop in Hashrate. I have a 2070 Super, card has worked great without many issues since I got it new (6 months ago). I started mining approximately 2 months ago and it has ran every night without a problem. Since waking up, I cannot get the card to get back into the 40's. Normally I hash around 41-44 MH/s on ETC but now it's stuck at the 31-34 MH/s level. What's weird is the miner says that my effective MH is much higher than what my actual current MH is. I have attempted these following steps: Restarted Machine - issue persists Left Machine off overnight - issue persists Rolled back graphics drivers - issue persists Updated to newest graphics drivers - issue persists Reverted back to stock OC settings - issue persists (goes down to 29-30MH on stock settings) Tried multiple OC profiles Core: -150-250 Memory: +100-900 Power limit 70-100% (no UV) After all of these steps the issue persists. After cranking the Memory clock all the way up to +1000 and having core at -250 the highest I've been able to get since is 34.5 MH/s Any idea's on what could be causing this? The card is very new and hasn't been stressed much. Temps stay in between 50-60 Celsius. Only one time did the card get into high 70's low 80's was because I ran the miner and forgot to turn on the OC but it was only for a few minutes. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I will attach a picture to assist. [link] [comments]
RTX 3070 TI Best OC settings? Safe to run over 230w? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 02:12 AM PDT So I got my rtx 3070 ti and get about 36 mhs on kawpow which is nice, however power consumption is quite high. Now I know it uses a lot, but question is if its safe for it to run this high? [link] [comments]
Electric breaker that doesnt have my mining rig on switch off Posted: 30 Jul 2021 09:30 PM PDT Trying to troubleshoot this weird problem. I assume this is caused by the rigs because others home usages are low... [link] [comments]
Windows 10: Is there a way to make AMDmemtweaker set timings automagically on boot? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 04:43 AM PDT Hi I have a 14 GPU vega rig and thusfar was using hiveOS where I could enter hbm timings (using amdmemorytweaker) on the OC profile so every time the rig rebooted the timings where automatically set. I now want to use windows for a variety of reasons but I face an obstacle, amdmemorytweak runs on windows too but everytime the system reboots e.g because one card died due to OC or whatver then I have to manually set the timings one by one for 14 GPUs. Ok I import timing profiles but its again bothersome since clicking "import" then clicking the file then clicking the tick/accept button 14 times is a pain in the ass + this means I have to have access to the rig everytime it reboots because of some error in order to do that :( Is there a way to script it somehow to set specific timings (and clocks if possible but I can settle only with timings) automatically on boot without the need of me to supervise the procedure ? Posted: 30 Jul 2021 06:17 PM PDT With the upcoming updates to ethereum and the difficulty increasing, do you think it's a good time to sell off the rx580s I have? Or save them to mine something else? Would they even make money anymore? [link] [comments]
If sata is hazardous then why does every gpu riser come with a sata connector? Posted: 30 Jul 2021 01:45 PM PDT Even searching specifically for a molex powered riser only shows me sata powered risers. Do I just need to get 6 pin to molex adapters separately? [link] [comments]

Can I still mine at 50mh with a 3060? On windows 10 Posted: 30 Jul 2021 02:00 PM PDT Hi, I currently have a 5700xt, 570 8gb, and was planning to buy a 3060, and buying a 9100f, h310m prime r2.0 used from a friend, just to achieve full mh, will it work? I know I need pcie 3.0 full 16x, no riser, a specific mining driver, but readed along reddit, that some people even with driver and all good, they cant reach 50mh, because Is locked from nvidia, Is that true? The fact here Is, that im buying the 3060 on 12 installments, because I dont have the money, I wanted all to pay itself while mining and paying the installments, here in Argentina im paying 18.50 usd per mh while buying a 1660s 30mh, and paying 15.50 usd per mh while 3060 50mh, what shall I do? If I stick with the 1660s, I just have to buy a riser, cos I still have free pcie on my Mobo... Thanks for the advice [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Jul 2021 01:33 PM PDT I purchased this PSU ( https://www.newegg.com/p/1HU-00Z3-00183?Item=9SIABXXEGY5305&quicklink=true ) a while back and recently was told it's not a good one. They said it's probably a Chinese knock off. I'm not sure if Newegg sells "knock offs" but would like to hear why it's not a good one? I purchased it simply because it has 8 PCi-e cables. If it isn't any good, should I replace it with 2 PSU for the "A" section on a B250 Mining Expert MOBO? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
