So I got banned from r/Bitcoin for calling out what I believed to be widespread fraud from the big CeFi exchanges

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 11:49 PM PDT

A few hours ago, I posted a complex post about what I believed to be widespread fraud within the crypto industry, and how it appeared that lots of exchanges were essentially "printing" fake BTC by adding them to people's accounts in exchange for real cash transactions, without anyone having a physical wallet to store said BTC unless withdrawal was requested.

This leaves the possibility open that many of the exchanges may not even have physical (on-chain) BTC to back all that stored crypto on their exchanges, and instead would only acquire said BTC as needed when people make withdrawal requests.

I then went on to explain how all that "promisory crypto" could be one reason why there has been such a devaluation of crypto in general across the board (including on DeFi), and how it could devalue the cryptocurrency on other non-centralized exchanges due to the perceived value provided by CeFi exchanges.

Here is hoping I can get your opinions without being banned for raising a point.

Nothing stops all these central exchanges from conducting fractional reserve banking on BTC, and devaluing the coin in the process.

Learn how to make a Bitcoin program

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 08:38 PM PDT

The best way to understand what bitcoin is and what it is capable of is to learn how the code actually works. Bitcoin Academy made a few great courses that can help everyone to understand Bitcoin.

There are 2 courses so far. The first one is an Introduction to Bitcoin Theory. It's great for beginners to learn some basics. The second course is Bitcoin Development Course. I'm not a developer, and I thought going through this course will be hard. And yes, it was somewhat hard, but you get to understand how Bitcoin actually works from the inside. Once you finish this course, you'll have a deep understanding of what Bitcoin is capable of. Be able to read and write data to and from blockchain. Understand tokens and smart contracts and much much more. You kinda be able to 'Hello World' in Bitcoin.

Anyways, sign up and enjoy the course https://tpow.app/8e4ac7f8

    Over-The-Counter (OTC) Crypto Vending Proposal

    Over-The-Counter (OTC) Crypto Vending Proposal

OTC crypto vending - A major adoption strategy

    OTC Crypto Vending Proposal

Perhaps the community might be interested in this proposition.

I researched using existing tools to facilitate access to crypto to encourage everyday use ( make on-ramping and off-ramping easier).

The idea is to get existing business/shop owners to sell cryptocurrency OTC using the following readily available tools:
    1. A POS mobile app
    2. A currency converter
    3. and a cryptocurrency wallet.

This is particularly useful in the following ways.
    1. Eliminate bank charges and gateway fees for on-ramping and off-ramping
    2. Drive adoption by decentralizing the distribution and access to crypto.
    3. Create revenue for shop owner.

As many countries race to clamp down on crypto, so must the community race to expand the accessibility beyond the geeky playground of online exchanges and P2P platforms. These can exist as whole-sales distribution hubs while ordinary everyday access is facilitated by corner shops.

This approach is particularly convenient for selling fast-to-transact coins like BCH and/or a related stablecoin.

For BCH, an app that addresses volatility by varying price and markup might be required. However for the stablecoin (e.g. SLP powered USDT or USDH), existing software is sufficient. If it works out well, a dedicated app can be built that integrates all features.

If this is taken up and promoted, people can be trained to deploy this OTC solution.

    Scenario:

    • Walk to a shop that has a definitive sticker,
    • Order your crypto or sell it.
    • The vendor is the shop owner/attendant.
    • The vendor collects your fund and gives you crypto (or reverse)

This approach would thus be leveraging existing shops, community relations, as well as existing tools to grow adoption.

A well coordinated marketing and promotion effort will see this deployed across multiple locations at once immediately facilitating micro-transfers, remittance and trade.

Interest in Bitcoin is falling. Bitcoin is preparing to plummet to $24,000. Bitcoin continues to be in a half-asleep state in recent days, but it still tends to fall. It has already been mentioned that the cryptocurrency formally continues to remain inside the side channel of $29,700 - $40,700.

Looking for open source NON CUSTODIAL crypto payment software for website

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 12:51 PM PDT

Hi guys, great sub, is there any Wordpress plugin or PHP code out there that will allow me to accept BCH payments on my website? I don't want to use anyone's API, register for any accounts, or submit my personal information, so I'm not interested in payment gateways. I am fine with keeping the crypto I earn on my site.

I know it's not that hard to put a QR code with my wallet address on my site, but I'm hoping for a complete solution that creates invoices, tracks payment, perhaps even uses xpub key to generate an address for each transaction?

    Thanks in advance
