Kicking Bitpay Into Submission - Is It Finally Time They Accepted LTC?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 09:04 AM PDT

I was doing some catching up on LTC adoption and ran across an article stating that Bitpay now accepts DOGE. I thought to myself: "hrm... I wonder if they accept Litecoin now. They probably started accepting it a long time ago and I just didn't see it".

Nope. Bitpay STILL does not accept Litecoin. We have paypal, venmo, countless other vendors accepting litecoin but Bitpay still doesn't accept it.

Can anyone shed any light on this situation? Do we need to start a campaign on this? It's unacceptable that in this day and age Bitpay still refuses to accept LTC yet accepts the crypto that was originally created to be a joke. Clown world.

Edit: Guys, please please please visit the links below... upvote the feature requests, and leave a quick comment stating why bitpay should FINALLY add LTC support.

Recovering Litecoin sent to Bitcoin Address (Block.IO)

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 10:42 AM PDT

I couldn't find any good documentation out there for recovering litecoin sent to btc address on block.io. It's two-factor authentication so the usual tricks you find on the interwebs don't work. Anyway I figured it out, and wanted to share with community in case someone else runs into this. Along the way someone tried to trick me into sending private keys, and a few other people wanted to charge me hundreds of dollars. So I hope this saves someone else the hassle I went through.

    1. Download latest version of Python (google: python download)
    2. Download this entire folder to your computer - https://github.com/BlockIo/blockio-basic-multisig-sweep
    3. Login to block.io -> settings -> backup private keys (you'll need these)
    4. In the folder you downloaded go to src folder and edit the networks.js file. You want to copy what's on the private and WIF line in the BTC section INTO the LTC section.
    5. Open command prompt - navigate to the directory where you downloaded the folder(it has the example.js file in it) -> and enter following:

SET PRIVATE_KEY1_BIP32=[your bip32 BTC private key from step 3]

SET PRIVATE_KEY2=[your secondary BTC private key from step 3]

SET DESTINATION_ADDR=[address you want litecoin sent to]

    SET NETWORK=LTC

    SET DERIVATION_PATH=m/i/0

    node example.js

Advice for a poor bewildered wannabe litecoin acceptor

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 10:35 AM PDT

Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone has the time to explain how I get over the volatility of Litecoin's price when trying to accept payment on a website. I want to sell statues for a fixed price, and I want to use my wallet, which is core. The problem is the way crypto varies against fiat week to week. One day this would work in my favour, another, the purchaser. I sell through a squarespace site which has paypal built on, but I would really like to work wallet to wallet. Is there a way to vary the exchange rate live on the site, or do you suggest just an email based exchange, which I don't mind, but I don't want to seem primitive if there is an easier way?

    Litecoin + Bitcoin

Can someone explain to my why and how Litecoin follows Bitcoin so closely? I understand they are "tethered"? Not sure what that means though.

Crypto is not the Olympics! Don't prepare and accumulate for a 4 year cycle just to sell everything in one day.

    BTC versus LTC

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 03:52 PM PDT

I was just transferring my cryptos out of the exchange and onto ledger, and I am ASTOUNDED at how much faster LTC is.

BTC transfer took about 10 minutes altogether, I would expect maybe 2 minutes for LTC.

NOPE. Within 5 seconds my transaction showed up on Ledger Live, and within the next second, it was confirmed.

Holy bejesus, this coin is fast as fuck.

LTC will have its day of reckoning. The tech is there, the development is there. And the logo is pure sex. That is all.

    GO LTC! ARISE CHIKUN!

    0 transaction fee

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 03:02 PM PDT

I transfer 1.5 of litecoin from one wallet to an exchange couple weeks ago and it had 0 transactions fee

My question is litecoin always has 0 transactions fee ? Because this was the first time using litecoin and was surprised that it didn't have any fee like Bitcoin or XRP

I could share a screenshot but my post would probably be automatically deleted
