Sad Day for Me shutting down rigs Posted: 31 May 2021 11:20 PM PDT my electric company decides to tax me 100% due to my over used electricity at home. 3.3 kw gets a bill of 650 $ (converted). 50% electricity cost 45% tax 5% other random taxes. now thinking to get solar. 400 MH/s Ethereum 320 MHs Etherum Classic. 24 cards (RX 400/500 series) people wondering if they(electric company) can do it... yes here we have slab's so after certain units of electricity you get to higher slab... after 1000 units they think your are a lord and start taxing as you go above. so at 3800 units in a month I'm probably a rich crook in their eyes. 🤣😂😠[link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Jun 2021 05:53 AM PDT Hi everybody, Just wondering what the pros and cons would be if getting 1 super powered card like the 3090 compared to getting multiple smaller cards that add up to similar hashrate I'm a hobby miner and just thinking that the 3090 is too much of an initial investment at this point while also being difficult from a heating/wiring standpoint Looking at maybe getting 2 x 3070 for the same price as the 3090 Would love an experts opinion - thanks :) [link] [comments]
3080 FE thermal mod producing lower mem temps but lower hashrate than stock. Posted: 01 Jun 2021 08:29 AM PDT I've done the common pad replacement and repaste with Arctic MX-1 on my 3080 FE but I'm finding that I'm getting lower hashrates (now 92.5 from 95.8). I used 2mm Gelid Extreme on the front and 2+1mm on the backplate, with the thermal paste applied as a cross with 4 dots as well as a second repaste with spreading. My core temps have increased (60+ instead of 45c) when mining at the same settings as before but the memory junction temp sits at a lower 90c, down from 104c. The strange bit is that the card isn't spooling the fans towards higher speeds like it used to, probably because it senses the mem temps aren't insanely high like before. In gaming benchmarks the card performs pretty much as before, temps and all. My thought is that the heat that would normally be coming from the VRAM and dissipating into the air/out of the case is now being directly transferred into the heatsink, reducing the heatsink's ability to wick heat away from the core. This is in addition to the fans working less due to the core/mem temps being within good tolerances instead of super low core temps/high mem temps. Any help would be appreciated. Posted: 01 Jun 2021 07:47 AM PDT So I've gotten my family to say they will help me mine btg to the pool I belong in. This is really cool, but my mother in particular seems to be having some issues. I use Gminer to mine with the graphics card, and I've told everyone how to set it up. She has it set up right, but McAfee keeps labeling it as a virus and deleting the program, not letting it run. She will not turn off McAfee and the one time I was trying to get the program to run I turned it off and Windows still stopped it from running and somehow McAfee still deleted the miner.exe and another two programs. I can't find the other two programs, but I have tried adding the miner.exe to the exclusions list through the firewall, but that did not help either. She has a decent laptop and I'd like her to help me, but I can't figure out McAfee, is there anyone out there who can help me? [link] [comments]
Canadian GPU sales notifications Posted: 01 Jun 2021 05:15 AM PDT Title pretty much says it all. Does anyone know of anywhere you can get notifications of GPU's going on sale in Canada? [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 May 2021 08:31 PM PDT In my area, RTX 3060 TI and 3070 are selling for $1600-1900 CAD and they yield a hash rate of around 61 MH/s. AMD 5700 XTs cost $900-1100 CAD and they get around 55 MH/s I ordered 2 x 3090s that arrive next week and even these get 110 MHs for $3500 each...... Seems significantly less expensive for an AMD with only a slight hash rate drop. Am Imissing something here? Are nvidias better at mining alt coins? PS. I mine in an industrial workplace and don't pay electricity on my 1 small rig, so wattage isn't too much a concern [link] [comments]

Historical GPU Mining Profitability? Posted: 31 May 2021 06:10 PM PDT Has there been any attempt or public attempt to create a graph of est mining profitability over time? Maybe nicehash users have access to something like this? [link] [comments]
Anyone have success buying non working gpu's on ebay and being able to fix them? Posted: 31 May 2021 06:09 PM PDT I see people still pay 300 dollars and up so I guess people are confident they can fix them. [link] [comments]

Is Nvidia mem temp support a HiveOS feature that we should expect soon? Posted: 31 May 2021 12:04 PM PDT Hey everyone, I know it's a driver limitation and not something that hive OS is missing. I would just like to hear the community's experienced opinion, whether it's something that we can expect soon or if there is any evidence to suggest some time frame. Meanwhile, should I be worried that I cannot monitor mem Temps? I am mainly using the community suggested OC settings in hive OS with some slight differentiation. Thanks in advance. What is the cheapest set of GPUs powerful enough to generate $2.00 daily? Posted: 31 May 2021 12:45 PM PDT I imagine the GPU would need to be pretty expensive to generate that much profit daily. I am also apprehensive about decreasing profits due to increased demand for mining. That being said if I purchased 8 GPUs and put them in a rig and started mining, which GPU would you recommend to make at least $2 a day each which would be $16.00 a day? Which would be the cheapest option? Is it even realistic to purchase 8 GPUs for a maximum price of $500 each? or do I need to spend more money so these GPUs can keep up in the future?
