Transferring OCs from Hive OS to Windows Posted: 19 Jun 2021 10:10 AM PDT Hello, I'm trying to set up T Rex and TRM on windows after using those programs on Linux the whole time. From what I understand Linux uses absolute clocks and windows uses offsets for OC settings. How do I transfer my OC settings from the absolute clocks on Linux to the offsets on windows? For example, my 3070's core is at 1150, but I have no idea what I should set the core to in afterburner. [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Jun 2021 09:44 AM PDT Hi all. I'm currently mining Ergo on a very new 3060, which I suspect has the newer limiters that extend to Ergo, Kawpow etc. I've been trying to get Ergo to work and found it strangely dropping to 60-70mh very quickly, when 105-120 is expected. I was fiddling around with my OC settings and had afterburner/ mining terminal up on half of my screen and noticed something weird, if I'm just on my desktop my rate flies down to 60-70. If I have a youtube video playing and that tab open, it goes up to 115 and stays there. I'm not using the dev driver as I wasn't able to play some games with it (Detroit become human and others). After further experimentation, everything except a video up and visible on the screen (not up but hidden behind other tabs) results in the fall in hashrate. Does anyone have ANY idea why this works, and if so, is there a way I can trick the card without having to leave a YT vid on? Currently have 48 hours of empty video playing on half of my monitor (ultrawide). Edit: extra context - I read on this subreddit that newer 3060s will have the newest limiter that has been put into the 3080ti/70ti, and for those Ergo is limited: https://www.notebookcheck.net/The-Nvidia-GeForce-RTX-3080-Ti-s-hash-rate-limiter-also-targets-other-mining-algorithms.543111.0.html [link] [comments]
Which is better for a long run: AMD RTX 5700XT or Nvidia RTX 3070? Posted: 19 Jun 2021 06:43 AM PDT The 3070 has a LHR nerf but I was told it is "Future proof". How about AMD 5700? Is it also future proof? I am thinking of mining Etherium before they go 2.0 Proof of Stake. [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Jun 2021 08:42 AM PDT Ok I'm a bit new to mining and building computers but I built a rig so far I have 3x 3090s powered by a 1600 Corsair gold psu. My question is am I powering this thing the right way. I have 2x 8 pin connectors going from the psu into the cards and then a 6+2 pin from the psu into the riser. The rig work and all but I was wondering if there's a way of rewiring with this configuration to add in a 4th 3090 on a single 1600w psu. Also my ideal goal is 8x 3090 GPU's powered by 2 1600 w Corsair PSU's using a mining mb My mb runs about 280w so I figured if the power were split by 2x psus and 4x gpus each power supply would be running like 1350w. So I guess I'm asking does this make sense also would there be a way of wiring this correctly because at the moment I'm using all 9 of the vga ports of the on 3 card and the risers. Can the risers be powered through one of the other remaining ports? [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Jun 2021 08:24 AM PDT i recently hooked up my new riser and gpu into my computer but i can't see it in the device manager or MSI afterburner etc. it is definitely powered as it lights up. i downloaded the latest driver for it and restarted and still nothing. could it be that the pcie slot is disabled? i tried looking in the BIOS but couldn't find any video card settings there. maybe the riser or USB cable is faulty? any ideas? Is it difficult to replace thermal pads? Posted: 18 Jun 2021 08:49 PM PDT I just got a 3090 form HP omen, and it is only going at 83 MH/s. I am have confirmed it is thermal throttling, and I am thinking of replacing the pads to help maximize value. Is it hard to replace the pads? I called HP, and they said opening the card and changing the pads don't void the warranty, only if I break it. I think I can get another 40 MH/s out of the card, but obviously it was quite expensive and I don't want to just have a several grand dead card. I am an avid tech enthusiast and have dealt with lots of electronics before, so I just want to know if it is easy enough to not screw it up and just do it. [link] [comments]

470.05 = "Driver is not compatible with your version of windows" Posted: 18 Jun 2021 10:25 PM PDT Finally was able to get a new card, Zotac 3060 12gb Twinedge OC, and want to try some mining when I'm not gaming. I've read about and downloaded a few different versions of the 470.05 but having issues installing it. Even tried a fresh Win10 install and same problem. After opening the setup file, I get the following error; "Driver is not compatible with your version of windows" Anyone ran into this issue? I'm on Windows 10 Home if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance edit; GPU-z screenshot https://imgur.com/a/Cz980f4 update; thanks all for the help, learned some new stuff but unfortuantely I've gotten an LHR card. fuck you nvidia. using NBMiner / Octopus via NiceHash I've been able to get this card up to 36-37 MH/s which is better than before. Haven't tried any HiveOS yet but might just sell card. [link] [comments]
Need help: looking for any BIOS for RX 580 MSI Gaming X w/ Micron memory Posted: 18 Jun 2021 08:59 PM PDT If anyone has a RX 580 MSI Gaming X, please check with GPU-Z to see if you are using Micron memory, and if so please copy your bios and shoot me a DM. I am looking for a working BIOS for this card. I purchased a card as "Parts Only", and it seems the BIOS is causing a "Thread Stuck in Device Driver" error. This seems to be a common error with the Gaming X with Micron memory, as a working bios isnt available for public download anywhere. If anyone with a MSI RX 580 Gaming X could lend a hand in locating a working BIOS for Micron memory by checking with GPU-Z, it would make a lot of people very happy! [link] [comments]
Help troubleshoot random GPU load/hashrate drops Posted: 18 Jun 2021 11:18 PM PDT For the setup: I'm passing a 3080 through to a Windows 10 VM which is using According to HWInfo and my ethminer readouts, the HWInfo also reports Any idea of what might be going on? or ideas of what to try to debug this? Are they still manufacturing 5700xt’s Posted: 18 Jun 2021 05:31 PM PDT Anybody know? Or has AMD stopped producing? I'm a little confused since some news articles that I see say that they stopped in October 2020, however, I have purchased some at Microcenter in March and April. [link] [comments]
Updated rig and my 3d printed SSD mount for risers Posted: 18 Jun 2021 04:52 PM PDT After posting here about my previous setup, i decided to keep working on it. The airflow was a bit sub-par with the card at the front very cold, and the card at the rear the hottest. When i stated re-designing my mount to rotate the GPU risers and cards, i measured it up and decided i would be able to fit 4 GPU's in one matx case. Here is what it looks like now I now leave the side of the case off, and airflow around the cards is pretty good. All 4 cards have very similar temperatures now. I still agree that an open air frame would have the best temps and airflow, but i am happy with how my setup performs (244MH/s and 530W from 1x3070 and 3x3060ti) [link] [comments]
