Why do miners let their GPUs throttle? Posted: 12 Jun 2021 04:00 AM PDT The answer to this will most likely depend on the rig itself. If it is a bunch of 3090s stuck one next to the other, throttling and placing a large ventilator to the side might or might not help. But if it is a rig where you can the GPUs at a distance to let air flow and maintain GPU at their optimal temperature, why would you make the fans (both on the GPUs and attached to the rig) throttle? Are RX5700 bio mods too risky? Posted: 12 Jun 2021 06:04 AM PDT My 5700 is getting ~50mhs at 130W. I see Morepowertool settings can allow some tinkering but every video/article I see only shows how to do it with the XT model. There are many sources that pair it with a bios mod, but I've seen this sub warn of bricking your card, especially since I'm not really sure what I'm doing. A tutorial showing how to use MPT to get my 6700 from 150W to >100 was simple. Is there a safe, idiotproof tutorial to mod/OC this card? The 5700 is from a Dell prebuilt so I don't know who makes it or if that complicates things. [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jun 2021 05:36 AM PDT Can I power both the GPU and risers with one pcie? I have a few 3070's drawing 130W can I power the riser on these cards with the same pcie cable to 6 pin or is this not safe? [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jun 2021 11:41 PM PDT Short lived as it may be... I buy GPUs to refurb them and hopefully bring them back to life for the next person who needs to game/mine/whatever. I don't ask. I mine on the side, and was making some decent money this year - now it's probably going to just go back to refurbishing GPUs, as profits are undercut by massive electric costs and overwhelming heat issues. I just wanted to share the milestone I've been trying to reach for 6 months. [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jun 2021 03:08 AM PDT I just bought a 12-GPU rig all 1070 and I bought 4 brand new 3080 and would like to replace the 1070s with 3080s I replaced one but unfortunately Windows 10 can never detect it Is there anything I should so Windows 10 can detect the replacement GPUs? The best thing about low gas costs Posted: 12 Jun 2021 02:20 AM PDT I no longer feel bad for stopping my gaming rig from mining to play a game for a few hours. [link] [comments]

RX 580 temperature/hashrate question Posted: 12 Jun 2021 12:38 AM PDT I'm getting 31.2MH/s on my RX580 @89W and 46°C. It's super stable so far (30+ hours with no invalid shares). I think this is pretty optimal, however I think I can push it to around 32.5MH/s. My question is: Is it harmful to push the card to that or a higher hashrate, taken into account that somehow I can make the temperature below 60°C and keep the GPU stable? [link] [comments]
Are GPUs hash rates accumulative? Posted: 11 Jun 2021 11:50 PM PDT Hello everyone, I am new at this and I was wondering if when mining the GPUs work independently or are they accumulative… I have a rtx2060 (for mining) and a gt710 (in a desktop) I know that the gt710 won't mine anything by itself [link] [comments] |
