Is mining still worth it? Or is it something with the dip? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 09:45 AM PDT I mine with my gpu radeon 5700 and started around 2 month ago and made quite some money around 7 bucks a day but now i only make around 1-2 dollars a day (i mine eth) and still has the same rate 45 mh/s and wondering if it has something with the dip or so permanent cuz i wanted to invest into a another gpu to mine, a radeon 5700 xt and im not sure now cuz i havent earned much money in a few weeks [link] [comments]

replaced the thermal pads on my 3090 xc3 ultra. No improvements.... Posted: 24 Jun 2021 09:11 AM PDT I used the 2mm thermalright on the backside of the vrm chips only. i'm still hitting 106c... should i order another pack and re do the pads near the gpu side? and if so, what are the measurements for them? Can i use a 6-pin PSU plug on an 8-pin to dual 6-pin adapter? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 07:45 AM PDT Im powering 5 x RX470s at 85w each using one of these chinese LX2000 mining PSUs. Its overkill for my setup. Server grade, really loud fan and 80+ platinum certified. Has 10 6 pin PCIE cables. Right now im powering 5 cards with it, but i was wondering if i could use some of my 8 pin to dual 6 pin adapters, would that be safe to use? [link] [comments]

I got lucky and snagged a 3080 FTW3! ...now I have too many video cards... Posted: 24 Jun 2021 10:40 AM PDT So I previously had a 3070 and a 1070ti running in my gaming rig, and I was able to get their temps stable and mining consistently. After stumbling on a new 3080, I wanted to remove the 1070ti, and have the 3070 and the 3080 in my rig, mining when I'm not gaming. Problem is, there's about 5mm gap between the two cards, and the 3080 is not getting enough airflow through its fans. Also now I have a 1070ti just laying around, not being used. It appears I need to start considering an open-air setup. I could run the 3070 and the 1070ti in the open air rig, and just the 3080 in my gaming rig so it stays portable and temps are under control. I DO have an old PC case, and a 600W power supply from my old PC build that I could use, but then I'd need mobo, ram, and cpu to complete the build, and that case's cooling isn't great either. Any suggestions? Eventually I want the 3080, 3070, and 1070ti all mining, but the 3070 and 1070ti could be in a separate machine/location if that makes sense. Or should I just look into getting some risers and have these cards just outside of my pc case? Thanks! [link] [comments]

What reasons do you have to believe that mining will continue to be profitable into the future? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 01:26 AM PDT If you Google GPU mining dead you will find people saying it will be over soon since 2017. Is it possible a new coin may come around and become highly profitable again even after ETH 2? If after ERGODEX drops and ERG finds itself on on all the major exchanges is it possible we could see a new resurgence of mining profitability from ERG? Why should we all expect it is actually over when there are many projects out there that have the potential to explode just like ETH did and lead to huge returns once again. ERG is just one of many examples but if we experience another bull market and a minable ASIC resistant coin shoots up in value whose to say that ETH 2 will actually kill mining? Zotac 3070 oc OR Palit gamingpro ? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 07:57 AM PDT I'm a little confused, which one is better 3070 ? Zotac twin edge oc or palit gamingpro ? Knowing that they are both for the same price. [link] [comments]

RX5700 XT 8GPU rig one card underperforming. Posted: 24 Jun 2021 07:00 AM PDT I don't know why this is? It performed perfectly for the first 4 days then suddenly dropped 10mh for no reason that I can tell. Thoughts and opinions always welcome. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jun 2021 06:45 AM PDT Just killing time and was wondering if anyone has heard of any LHR hacks yet? The 3060 was a 'driver mistake' which made the back door, anything else like it on the new NVIDIA cards? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jun 2021 04:16 AM PDT I have been running about 10 cards (mostly 3070s and 5700s) across several systems for a while now, but I'm finally centralizing into a legit rig. I'm always slowly expanding whenever I get deals on top cards (msrp or below, under 4mo ROI, etc.) I'm currently consolidating into one of those 12gpu mobos. I'm cool with all the hardware stuff. I have thus far been lazy, and have been using Betterhash for a long time, but I'm excited to get into an OS or system that is more advanced with more options. I mainly care about the following:
So far, these are the options I am investigating and may try: HiveoOS = seems to be the most common, I assume it's popular for a reason. I suspect it will be around for the long haul. Is it actually the best though? MinerstatOS = the second most common, seems like they get more into the profit switching perhaps. Maybe cheaper than hive. RaveOS = I have had some good recommendations regarding getting lots of cards to recognize, seems worth a gander. Rainbowminer = not an OS, but seems to have the most options in terms of algos, benchmarks, and profit switching. There is alot less discussion about it though... Also, seems perhaps too complex? With all that, are there any other options I should try? There is a lot of info out there, but alot of it is like a year old. Are any of you a hardcore fan of one or the other, and wanna tell me why? Cheap FLIR camera for checking? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 01:57 AM PDT Anyone using or tested cheap FLIR camera to check is there any hot spots in rig and possible cause problems or even fire in future? [link] [comments]
Mining Advice - Are there any microcap minable coins that interest you right now? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 12:56 AM PDT What's up you fine people, I am fairly new to mining but I understand the core principles quite well. I just got a new PC for gaming, but I also would like to begin mining. I was wondering if there are any minable microcap coins that you are currently interested in or mining at the moment. I'm mainly an investor, and I'm not looking for a handout i'm just geniunely curious if there are any good projects that I could look into. Thanks in advance and good luck to all of you reading this! Upside down laptop, Cooling Pad, or Cooling Vacuum? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 12:06 AM PDT Whats the best way to cool down a laptop? I've seen some people use the Tent / Upside down V method and others use a cooling pad or a cooling vacuum? Input greatly appreciated :) [link] [comments]

Using ATX and Server PSU’s without risers Posted: 23 Jun 2021 09:28 PM PDT Normally the server PSU powers both the risers and GPUs while the atx psu powers the motherboard. However, in my case I'm using ribbons to connect the GPUs to the motherboard. Can I just connect the GPUs to the server PSU and be good? Or do I need to do something else? [link] [comments]
RTX 3070ti - 2 algos at once more profitable? Posted: 23 Jun 2021 02:36 PM PDT I've been playing around with my new 3070ti in my VR gaming machine. thought maybe there would be some room in the overhead from the Eth LHR limiter to also run Ravencoin. Seems to auto balance out at Eth 23mh + RVN 26MH with just OC settings (haven't tested miner settings yet) Seems like it's just barely more profitable to run both at the same time rather than one or the other from quick calculations on whattomine. More advanced tweaking may even help if I find some more time? Eth only 42MH = $2.52/day (LHR Eth rate limited) RVN only 38MH = $3.03/day ETH 23MH ($1.38/day)+ RVN 26MH ($2.07/day) = $3.45/day [link] [comments]
RTX 3080Ti Benched & Hashrate Results Posted: 23 Jun 2021 08:27 AM PDT Hi everyone, I got a 3080Ti allocation and did some benching on it. I pasted my results below for ETH, RVN, and ERG. I am actually impressed with the card's performance on ERG and RVN. It seems to perform on par with the 3090 at less power usage. My clock settings and hashrate are posted below. I am actually contemplating a 3080Ti rig since it is not too hard to get them at MSRP. I currently have a mid-size GPU facility and am looking at these as a decent option to expand mid-term. If anyone would like me to bench any algos or clock settings, please shoot me a DM/comment and I would be happy to do so. [link] [comments] |
