Celsius Users - Please Be Careful! Posted: 24 Jun 2021 03:22 PM PDT Coindesk published the news article below today in which they state prime trust has cut its partnership with Celsius because of concerns of "endlessly re-hypothecating assets". Meaning they will no longer manage assets for celsius. Assets, its users are depositing into celsius to borrow against or to earn interest on. The article also mentions that celsius is now only using its core custody partner, fireblocks. Fireblocks just recently lost ~ 75 million USD of ETH for not properly securing a private key. Article is also below. I am not trying to spread FUD or saying that there is any current issue with Celsius, however a main core partner dropping them and Celsius using some like fireblocks who just lost millions in eth for another client is very concerning. DYOR...BE CAREFUL FAM! https://www.coindesk.com/custodian-prime-trust-cuts-ties-with-crypto-lender-celsius https://www.coindesk.com/fireblocks-being-sued-for-allegedly-losing-over-70m-of-ethereum-report [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Jun 2021 03:51 PM PDT The ETH I am staking was earning 6% APR. now it says I'm earning 5% (on Coinbase). Did I miss something in the fine print? I'm feeling duped. A bot will probably remove this because I missed something in the rules as well. [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Jun 2021 05:10 AM PDT I know, DYOR. And I did. The result? Back to square one. Whatever I googled, I could find someone stating at some time that X platform for staking is SCAM. I am really out of ideas. None of them can guarantee that they will pay me back when I decide to withdraw. I am not a US citizen, my country is basicaly powerless or unwilling to protect my assets abroad. Is it going to be same here? For every "hyped about finaly staking at Coinbase" you get at least one comment that they are scammers. Or Binance. Or MyCointainer. Same is for trading, that is another topic. Tell me, why should I even bother? This is why adoption is low. People dont have time to spend on reaserching. They google, they compare conditions and they choose. That how banks work. C'mom reddit show that you can agree on something! Thanks. [link] [comments]

Is the EIP-1559 burn rate on Ropsten representative of the expected rate when deployed to mainnet? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 10:33 AM PDT Watching watchtheburn.com it looks like the testnet burn rate is around 4,000 ETH a day. From etherscan's total supply chart https://etherscan.io/chart/ethersupplygrowth we can see the total supply increases about 20,000 a day. This means, if what we see on the testnet is what we might expect when EIP-1559 is deployed to mainnet, we would still see a daily increase of about 16,000 ETH a day. ETH 2.0 and POW to POS conversion aside, this seems to show pretty starkly that this new protocol will not cause a decrease in ETH supply over time. I'm sure I'm missing some pieces to this whole picture, can anyone help enlighten me to any other aspects of this I may be overlooking? [link] [comments]
I built a bot which discovers promising new Ethereum DeFi and NFT projects Posted: 24 Jun 2021 07:07 AM PDT TL;DR: I built a bot which monitors interactions on social networks to detect new DeFi and crypto projects before they trend. It's freely available via: https://cryptohunt.pro Staying on top of all the new crypto project releases is hard. Let alone finding the signal in the noise and filtering through the scams and shills. Usually when one asks where to look for new, promising crypto projects the answer is „Crypto Twitter" or „join Discords" / „join Telegram Groups". However monitoring those channels for interesting content is a day job of its own. To tackle this problem I set out to build a bot which monitors interactions between accounts on different social media outlets. Based on such data the bot identifies the newest crypto projects which are likely to trend in the future. I'm still fine-tuning the algorithms but thought that it might be worthwhile to share the very first version with all of you. Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to add in the future. You can check out the project here: https://cryptohunt.pro There's also a Telegram Channel you can join to get notifications. [link] [comments]
