Any exposure for BTC simply spreads awareness for the cryptospace, and how bad of a currency BTC is and the other alternatives that exist.

El Salvador on track to become first country to accept bitcoin as legal cash.

El Salvador is considering legislation that would make it the first sovereign nation in the world to accept bitcoin as legal cash alongside the US currency.

President Nayib Bukele announced El Salvador's cooperation with digital wallet startup Strike to construct the country's contemporary

There are claims here that BCH miners are deliberately stealing money. Pretty sure it's not true, but people saying it so casually just shows how well blockstream's propaganda has worked.

Ponzi and pyramid schemes are illegal in many countries and just because a pyramid scheme is transparent does not suddenly make it legal. Satoshi's Pyramid and the posts about it on /r/btc can be used as ammunition to get Reddit to ban /r/btc

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 12:43 PM PDT

So I would like to ask the mods here to delete any posts about it that are focused towards promoting it. (so not the ones talking about it, only the one that make it seem like /r/btc endorses pyramid schemes and allows promotion of them.)

I can't understand how anybody could possibly think this could be good for BCH or the community.

Also what is most likely is going to happen is that the amount of BCH in Satoshi Piramyd their cold wallet is going to grow till the point that it corrupts the cold wallet key holder, who will promptly steal all the BCH. This then will also be used on social media and other subreddits as ammunition against the Bitcoin Cash community.

So again I asked our mods to do something about this, to protect the sub and our community.

And for the future, any shortcut short term gain of increasing adoption leads to long term pain.

There is only way to increase adoption, people need to see a direct financial benefit in to using on chain transactions over all other options. Never in my live have I made a BCH tx if not for a reason behind it. I post on memo.cash cause I am annoyed that when I use a word Twitter their AI does not like they suspend my account for 3 days. I use BCH put in to escrow to hire people from Venezuela cause it's low friction and I am in full control. I use BCH to send money to Europe cause it's faster and cheaper then a wire transfer if you know how to instantly sell it for Euro's on the other end. (there is some risk but it's relatively low). Etc etc.

Pirate Rick said that the only thing we got is "profit mode".

It's a waste of time, effort and money to try and cheat reality. We want to make BCH a success, we are going to have to work our asses of and keep pushing our brains till they come of with ideas that fall 100% within "profit mode"

Short term gain is long term pain, a moment WILL come in the future where every chain that does not have utility or not enough will die. That day I will be doing the same thing I am doing everyday: slow and steady working towards more BCH adoption as money. Anything else is a distraction and just buys the powers that be more time to figure out how to deal with this threat. Just like none of us have figured out how to get the network a 100 million daily users, they have not yet figured out how to deal with the potential threat of us getting a network with a 100 million daily users. And as long as they don't figure that out, we got time. And when we figure it out, they are out of time.

Better versions of Facebook and Twitter of course. XD. But is there any Instagram better version built on BCH services.

El Salvador to legalize Bitcoin as legal tender. Bitter-sweet news for me.

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 08:11 PM PDT

    https://read.cash/@francis105d1/el-salvador-to-legalize-bitcoin-as-legal-tender-bitter-sweet-news-for-me-aff5808f

I wrote in the past an article about El Salvador Bitcoin beach city, where pretty much I exposed that Bitccoiners are promoting the usage of custodian services as the real deal, and to me, it seems that the Bitcoin Cash community has been quiet about it too. Silence is often a sign of approval.

Now in the Bitcoin conference 2021, on a video, the President of El Salvador announced that he will introduce Bitcoin as legal tender, and I hope that it is not legislation that is exclusively just for Bitcoin Core BTC, but for all cryptocurrencies that have the same characteristics. I hope that if Bitcoin becomes legal tender in El Salvador that same law also helps other cryptocurrencies as well and that is not a trojan house law on which only Bitcoin Core custodian services are allowed but many other altcoins as well.

Bitcoiner have been using Wallet of Satoshi in El Salvador and they have been promoting that service as the real deal, they are promoting Wallet of Satoshi as if it was the same as using Bitcoin. We all know that using custodian services is not using the real Bitcoin whatsoever but just that, a service or yet another bank with fewer protections than even a regular bank.

I don't know if I am the only soul saying this but using WoS is not Bitcoin, and as far as I know, the Bitcoin Cash community has been quite silent about this as well. Now I am asking myself where are the Kim DotComs, where are the Rover Vers denouncing this fraud.

Even in the Bitcoin conference, the presentation said that Lightning Network works, I guess the vision of Bitcoiner for a lightning network that works is for everyone to use custodian services like Wallet of Satoshi. In the Bitcoin conference, they are promoting LN as if it was working because people in El Salvador have been using the custodian services without any issues.

I have used Wallet of Satoshi in the past but at least I don't lie to myself and others about what that service actually is a custodian service, but yet in the Bitcoin conference, they are reporting that LN works even when in El Salvador they have been using Wallet of Satoshi service as wallets.

Maybe I am wrong and the whole Bitcoin Cash community is wrong as well, maybe custodian services are the future for Bitcoin, and since the Bitcoin Cash community has been also silent about this maybe deep down the Bitcoin Cash community also wants custodian services to take over the world. I am being sarcastic here.

I don't know what kind of law president Nayib Bukele will pass to Congress but I hope it is a law that includes many other altcoins as well and that is not a law exclusively only for Bitcoin Core BTC. If the Bitcoin Cash community is not going to say anything about passing custodian services as the real deal, I hope that at least the Bitcoin Cash comes together to make sure that if in case El Salvador passes a law to accept Bitcoin as legal tender that the community makes sure that same law also includes other currencies as well, that way people will have the alternative to use custodian services as legal tender and also the real peer to peer currency as legal tender as well.

The Bitcoin Cash community must be vigilant that if Bitcoin is accepted as legal tender and if laws are written that those laws are inclusive, and not laws that exclude other altcoins from being legal tender too.

Jack Dorsey is subscribed to the idea of "not your keys not, your coins". Will he get disappointed by BTC?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2021 05:54 PM PDT

I've started learning about bitcoin since early 2017. At that time I liked the project as is. And I thought Bitcoin Cash fork was unnecessary and counter productive. But now no longer, Here's why.

The block limit is forcing users to leave the network specially at the times of peak usage. Such that we don't know how many users bitcoin could've had If the artificial limit wasn't there.

It is very apparent that users either do not bother even touching the BTC chain or they will move to other cryptos when BTC experiences this issue. They will not migrate to LN :(

I think it is great that we see BTC community is still advocating ideas like "Not your keys, not your coins". It will push people to actually try and use the chain. When we see BTC is running at 100% capacity, Significant amount of users will run away to other solutions. (bitcoin.com wallet is doing a great job on directing users to the right place :))

It's not about providing the lowest fee possible for usage of the chain. Anything reasonable will do. The issue is with the capacity limit.

On arguments against BTC, It's better to focus on the lost opportunities that bitcoin has with the cap in place.

I don't think It's a big deal to have higher fees in BCH as well as long as It's reasonable. The issue is with continuously running at full capacity.
