    Buying and Holding

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 11:00 AM PST

I've only recently learned about litecoin and know very little about crypto in general. I downloaded the SoFi app to buy stocks with and there's an option to purchase crypto currency's so I bought some litecoin. My question for those of you who are more knowledgeable and experienced is: is this the best way to buy and hold crypto? It seems as though the only thing I can do with it on SoFi is buy it and then exchange it for USD. How do you buy crypto? What do you store it in? I hear about "wallets" but I'm not too familiar with them yet. TIA.

Interresting Reflection (And ELI5) around Litecoin Trust of Grayscale

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 12:05 AM PST

ELI5 Grayscale for new members : it is an investment fund. You are not really buying Litecoin by buying LTCN, but parts of this investment fund which are backed by real Litecoin. Just like you buy Berkshire from Warren Buffet: you are not really buying coca cola or Well Fargo stocks, but parts of Warren Buffet's investment fund which will be used to buy the stocks he chooses for you. Clear no ?

    Now what is interresting :

Institutionals are ready to pay 1758% more for their share of litecoin at grayscale.

Translation: 1LTCN (1 part of litecoin trust grayscale, which is backed by 0.1 litecoin, and not 1 litecoin !) bought from Grayscale costs 300 USD : 18 times the market price, So 3000 USD for 1 litecoin and not 165 USD for 1 litecoin, by using this investment fund.

When you have a lot of money, it's usually rarely by accident. And most of the time, big fortunes have a much longer term vision (when you have a lot of money, you are still less likely to live from day to day ...)

Institutionals (investors) trust Grayscale to keep their wallet in safe place (this is a questionable strategy) and it costs them 18 times the value of litecoin. And grayscale continues to buy Litecoin, more and more aggressively, chasing the slightest dip

Further Numbers Analysis: If grayscale want to achieve equity (and it is not necessary, i precise. If there is people who want to pay 3000usd a litecoin using grayscale trust, they can !), he should own 26Millions of Litecoin, or a market Litecoin's value $ 3,000. Currently the total holding of litecoin at grayscale is not 238 Million dollars, but in fact 18 times, considering Grayscale investors are willing to pay 18 times more since 1year : We are probably around 2billions of dollars and not not 238million dollars (1.44M of LTC * 165 usd)

Don't you see something extremely bullish there?

It is a reflection : share your feelings.

    New to crypto

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 10:31 AM PST

I have been looking at crypto for a while and ready to jump in. What is the best way to buy Litecoin and store it safely? Do I need a thumb drive to store it? Is it easy to buy from kraken or Coinbase and transfer it to my own storage device?

    Noob help please

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 06:14 AM PST

2 days ago I bought $1100 from litecoin.com (they use simplex), sent it to the ptpwallet app I have on my phone, and it still hasn't arrived. Block chain says it was sent (I think), and in the faq it says that if I get the email that says I am approved, which I did, then im definitely getting my coins but that it can take up to an hour. It has been many more than one hour. The ptpwallet app is shit with its customer service and hasn't gotten back with me when I've emailed them a couple of times. Has anyone here used this app? It has great reviews and if it works I want it use it for all my different crypto I'm going to start investing in.

Tldr:havent received coins and freaking out. What do?

    The Energy usage around Crypto

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 06:03 AM PST

Do any of you guys think the vast amounts of energy required to keep crypto working could lead to its banning / downfall?

I know we talk about how 'efficient' paying via crypto could be in terms of speed, but if it consumes so much energy, is it really efficient?

    Keen to hear viewpoints.

    Mining Question

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 09:24 AM PST

I have been using easyminer to mine LTC for a few weeks and the program up dated recently. I run webroot antivirus software as a precaution against other malware ( I use this computer as a "home computer" I have no desire to build a dedicated mining rig). Long story short, after the update easyminer simply wont open anymore. I had only a few satoshis so it's no great loss but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. I also tried to whitelist my mining software but this didn't seem to help.

I've been looking how to withdraw from binance, but can't seem to find the solution.
I've tried uphold and coinbase, but I can't see the option where I can find my wallet address. Is it because my country is not supported (Serbia)?

    Thank you in advance!

Do you have problems with running LTC node?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 07:40 AM PST

    Hey developers!
If you want to build dApp, for example, a multi-currency wallet or crypto exchange, and connect LTC nodes there, you have to run them yourself (which is quite expensive and time-consuming) or to find a nodes provider.

We at Getblock provide API connection to over 40 full nodes from many leading blockchain platforms. The service allows you to request on-chain information from a node, so you shouldn't waste your time on day-to-day updates, fixing bugs, constant syncing, equipment failures, multiple nodes issues, etc.

To start using our nodes, simply register on GetBlock and get a free API key in your account.
