Multiple 3060 PCIe lane allocation? (cant get full performance)

    Posted: 31 Mar 2021 06:40 AM PDT

Hi I just got a new cpu, mobo n ram to run my two 3060 at full speed since they need to be in pcie16x.
But I cant get both to run at full speed.
    CPU: G6405
    Mobo: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/All-series/TUF-GAMING-B460-PLUS/

(I have the right drivers and both cards are in 16x slots on mobo, no risers, both cards have hdmi plugs)

GPU_0 in the first slot runs at full speed.
    GPU_1 stuck at 25mh/s.

I cant seem to change the PCI-e allocation in the BIOS, IMG:
    https://imgur.com/9VyxEJ5

Do you think its possible that the first PCIe gets 8x allocation and the others split? making the second 16x slot not getting the 8x that is needed for full performance?

I am not that well read up on how pcie lanes gets divided, but it would be nice to be able to adjust it in bios, but I cant seem to reach those settings.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    HiveOS Refusing Overclocks.

    Posted: 31 Mar 2021 06:08 AM PDT

Starting off I believe the largest suspicion is the RebTech board I purchased as every other piece to my rig is working individually. However, when I hook up 2 3070 to my RebTech board the only modification they take is a power limit. The cards entirely ignore other commands. Be that overclocks or changes in fan speeds. Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so how was it resolved?

FYI: Nvidia, hive, miner updates have been done. No change.

    Building a new rig!

    Posted: 31 Mar 2021 08:45 AM PDT

I'm about to make a build for a rig and i was wondering how much i should be making per day to make it even worth while. this won't be paying bills or a mortgage or anything, a side hobby if you will, i just don't want to invest a lot of money in something that won't be worth it.

Tips for mounting fans on random heatsinks

    Posted: 31 Mar 2021 08:34 AM PDT

Hey all, I tried a heatsink over the processor and RAM area of the backplate, and it made a big difference in backplate temperature. Right now, the case fans are in the typical spot at the end of the card, blowing long-ways along it. I'm thinking of moving them to be right on the heatsink.

Any tips for mounting fans to heatsinks that aren't made for it? Thanks!

i7 2600k enough for my cards?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2021 08:21 AM PDT

Hi! Noob miner here. Right now, I'm mining with three separated computers with two GPUs each (2x3070, 2x1070 and 1x2080+1x580). I want to move to a single rig with all the six cards and I have an older PC with an i7 2600k (16 PCIe lanes). Would that be enough for these cards?

    Thanks.

    Mining the Dip?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2021 08:00 AM PDT

    Hey all!

I want to start off by saying I am extremely new to this and I am just trying to get some information that I've been unable to find after doing a bit of research. I've been looking into getting a gaming PC for some time now (for gaming) and it would be awesome to dabble with some mining as I upgrade over time. The PC I'd be building would definitely be under 600 bucks so I don't expect to be able to do anything out of this world, I can already tell how competitive this realm is.

Ultimately, what i would like to do is mine crypto at specific points when the price has dropped. I'm a long term investor of a few coins as is and I'd love to be able to increase my holdings and maximize the use of my computer by mining dips instead of buying.

I have no intentions of running the mining software all day, I'd say a few hours at a time and only at key points when price has dropped. I've been asking around and haven't been able to find anything on this topic.

Thanks everyone for the help! I'm looking forward to learning about this.

    Honeyminer's really terrible profitability??

    Honeyminer's really terrible profitability??

I have recently gotten into cryptocurrency mining, starting with NiceHash. After finding out that my graphics card (EVGA 980-Ti) was not supported by them for mining anymore, as well as some of their very questionable user safety decisions in the past, I decided to move to Honeyminer. The issue there was that my profitability on Honeyminer is essentially nonexistent. With the Nicehash profitability calculator, my computer (Ryzen 5 3600 and previously mentioned 980-Ti) is supposed to make about $3 a day (without taking into account electricity), and since I mine only at night that would be more like $1. With Honeyminer, right now I've only got $0.04 per night. Honeyminer and NiceHash are obviously different in their profitability, but they shouldn't differ by such orders of magnitude, no? r/honeyminerOfficial only had about 100 people in it and the mods take literal years to verify posts, so I thought I would come here to ask what I have done wrong and how I can get my profitability to somewhere close to what I could be having with NiceHash. Please help!

Can the 3060 do mining - nicehash says $.4.50 a day

    Posted: 31 Mar 2021 07:28 AM PDT

I have got a MSI 3060 12GB mainly for gaming but wondered if it can be sued for GPU Mining through NiceHash?

I heard a lot about the 3060 been limited for mining but nicehash reckons it will get $4.50 a day?

T-Rex miner shows a red exclamation mark next to the generated DAG crc

    Posted: 31 Mar 2021 03:15 AM PDT

Also it sometimes gets regenerated while mining, always with that red exclamation mark. I have T-Rex miner version 0.19.12, using an overclocked GTX 1070 on Windows 10. I don't think the overclock is the problem because right now I have a rejected shares % of 0.71 and the total share are 1131.

    Power Limit: 80%

    Core: +220

    Memory: +200

One more question, is it better to have the highest possible efficiency but with a low hashrate, or a slight lower efficiency but with +~1 hashrate?

Is it a good idea to build my mining rig under an air conditioner?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2021 05:30 AM PDT

    Hi,

I recently built a 6 GPU mining rig and it is already generating brutal heat in the room.

I'm thinking about moving it just under the air conditioner. Would it be a good idea? Or is it too humid for a PC to operate in the long run?

Please bare in mind that I use an open frame spec.

First mining rig - no display on first time boot

    Posted: 31 Mar 2021 04:48 AM PDT

    Afternoon all,

So my issue is as the title reads, built my first rig and after turning power on nothing coming through to the monitor.

    Specs are as follows:

    M/B: Biostar TB250-BTC
    CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 SR2HG 3.70 GHz
    RAM: HyperX FURY 8GB 2666MHz DDR4 RAM
    PSU: ASUS Rog Strix 550W
    SSD: PNY CS900 120GB 2.5" 6Gb/s SATA III
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super Ventus XS 6GB (x2)

Tried moving the RAM from one slot another in the hopes that would help after doing some research online and no joy so thought I'd ask the internet.

Tried disconnecting the GPU's and using the display port on motherboard but still no joy.

Any help would be appreciated please.

    Thanks in advance

MSI RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio memory temp 80 degrees

Hello community, recently I was tinkering with termal pads on my RTX 3080 and I get to result of 80 memory junction temperature, which I think is amazing. Stock termal pads were at 106 degrees with same settings.

    after 10 minutes stable temps

I used to have 6 W/mK pads and those were able to cool it down to 90, but I wasn't satisfied.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08CGL7MLN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 So I ordered this beast 1mm on memory and 3mm on backplate.

I just wanted to share my experience with this product. Enjoy and keep mining!
