Poll: Should we ban NFT advertisements from r/Ethereum? Posted: 01 Mar 2021 05:31 AM PST Question: Should NFT advertisements be banned from r/Ethereum? Up-vote = yes, we ban NFT advertising; topics about NFT as a technology are okay. Down-vote = no, NFT advertisements should be accepted, people just want to share their creations. Edit: Please go to the following post that has a real link —> https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/lvi19w/should_we_ban_nft_ads_on_rethereum/ Edit: This poll is flawed because it doesn't adequately represent the people who want NFT content (by this I mean posting of specific minted NFTs that have a price, not discussing NFTs generally). I didn't have the option to post a poll on mobile, so if someone can make a post that can improve this existing post, please do and I'll delete this. We want a poll to accurately reflect the community. [link] [comments]

A proposal for cross-rollup DEX (ethresear.ch) Posted: 01 Mar 2021 10:36 AM PST One of the challenges with rollups is that it is difficult to move between them: if you have funds in zksync but want to send them to someone who has a loopring account, currently the best approach is to withdraw to layer-1 and then re-deposit to loopring. This is really inefficient, costing you a full layer-1 gas fee, and furthermore it is very slow (especially with optimistic rollups where withdrawal takes a week). Here I propose a design for a decentralized/trust-minimized mechanism that allows users to move between rollups directly and potentially very quickly, as long as there is some liquidity provider willing to facilitate the trade. The mechanism only requires one side to be fully smart-contract/EVM capable; the other side can be a minimalistic rollup with no features other than sending coins. This mechanism could make life much easier for users trying to navigate the rollup ecosystem. is the price of gas associated with the price of eth or the demand to use the block chain?? Posted: 01 Mar 2021 07:15 PM PST ik the two are intertwined but im curious which is the direct correlation... forgive me if this is an obvious question im pretty new [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Mar 2021 04:51 PM PST Anything and everything about Ethereum I would love to hear. I would like to invest more into Ethereum but it's just worrying since there is no real limit to the amount of Ethereum there is. [link] [comments]

Give this pleb an idea of what ETH can theoretically do Posted: 01 Mar 2021 04:19 PM PST I'd like the head what some of the technically gifted people on this sub think ETH could theoretically do at its upper limits, allowing for realistic development down the line that might not exist yet. I've heard some talk about what's possible, but I swear I must be misunderstanding something because the things being talked about seem too extraordinary: someone told me that ETH will allow for crazy things like removing the need for game servers through distributed computing. This is probably total BS but I have to think there's a reason they were so hyped about this, and even if it was exaggerated it would still be incredible. So without relying purely on existing technology, what do you think ETH (or similar crypto) is capable of? [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Mar 2021 06:00 PM PST I am an indie filmmaker. Not to bore you but the market is really tough for indie films these days. I know "Braid" was financed with Ethereum in 2018. I'm interested in how to produce and distribute a new film using blockchain technology. Anyone have any suggestions? The film is about the aftermath of a UFO event (not conspiracy driven at all). What pools have you staked ethereum in? Posted: 01 Mar 2021 03:11 PM PST Hi everyone, I'm thinking about staking ether and was wondering what pools you guys have staked in to see what pools you trust the most. I'd be curious to hear about why you chose your option. [link] [comments]
Ethereum paywall for WordPress site Posted: 01 Mar 2021 12:33 PM PST I was wondering if anyone knew of a plugin or of a way to create a paywall on a website (WP) that takes Ether. How should I go about creating something like this? I am decently competent with Javascript, and would like to learn Solidity. Does anyone know of any useful github repos that I could use to accomplish something like this? Any pointers? Thanks [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Mar 2021 09:53 AM PST i'd like to give a friend a small gift in crypto (to get him started/interested) i'd also like him to not be able to cash it out instantly :) i was thinking... maybe it's possible to gift ETH, which can only be retrieved when (/if) ETH2 is released. is it? Ethereum Light Node on Raspberry Pi 4? Posted: 01 Mar 2021 01:29 PM PST I am trying to run an Ethereum light node so that I can point my MetaMask wallet to it for safety following the instructions in this article under the privacy and anon section. I have an extra Pi (Pi4 B 2gb) lying around and wanted to run a light node on it. However, every guide I come across (1, 2) says that you need an SSD even though Ethereum.org says that you can run a light node on a SD card. Is there a guide for running a Raspberry Pi light node without an SSD? If not, can I run a light node on an Iphone or in the background of my mac without it being resource intensive?
