This is to park some portion of their cash position into crypto assets. Square already does this. Tesla and the richest man in the world is endorsing crypto currency. This is huge for all crypto assets and soon most will discover Ethereum from all this. As a large cap company and industry leader, other companies who have larger cash balance may follow suit moving a small portion of their cash positions into crypto assets.

ETH Gas Fees Are TOO D*** HIGH

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 08:28 AM PST

So I wanna trade some tokens on Uniswap within the last few days and oh man the gas fees are going insanely high!

I assume latest mainstream interest on crypto prompts the ETH network to be super busy hence super high gas fees.

Any idea of where to find Level 2 exchangers to avoid these astronomical gas fees? Or Level 2 exchangers dont exist yet?

And ETH 2.0 will start on 2024? OMG that's like foreveeeeer

To all the newcomers in this space, welcome!

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 12:12 PM PST

Whether you entered the crypto world during the Gamestop saga, or when Elon Musk tweeted about Doge, or when Tesla invested 1.5 billion dollars in Bitcoin, welcome.

Avoid FUD and FOMO like the bloody plague. Do your own due diligence, do not follow the hype and educate yourself on the movement as a whole, rather than how to make as much money as possible, the shortest period of time conceivable.

Start by only investing what you can afford to lose. Choose an exchange that is trusted (there are many nightmare stories to be shared from those who have been here for years). Binance (https://www.binance.com/en/register?ref=JN2IBGLC) is the largest crypto exchange out there and is probably the most trusted.

Do not tell people how much you have invested. That information is on a need to know basis and they do not need to know, nor does anyone on some online forum. If you share too much, you will be targeted by certain individuals with nefarious intentions. A sensible level of caution is advised when operating in the crypto world. Keep your wits about you.

Finally, never ever be put off by obnoxious know it alls - ASK! ASK! ASK! It does not matter how silly you may feel your question is, you will find an army of open and generous people here who are more than willing to take the time to explain anything and everything to you.

    Be blessed.

GAS FEES GAS FEES GAS FEES.

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 03:32 PM PST

Ever since i got into ETH it's gas fees gas fees gas fees.

I know I'm not a blockchain developer and I have no experience working with code, but holy fuck this problem is so massive you think there would be more of an urgency to fix it. ( not to say that there is no urgency at all )

Is this not the same issue that's been hindering Ethereums true potential to grow since it's last "bull run" to 1400?

What is the current issue preventing some form of hot fix to help elevate gas fees.

Long shot, but Is there anything us normal people can do to assist.

If you feel I'm looking at this the wrong way or maybe your reading this like "wow this dude knows ducking nothing" please enlighten me by sharing information so I can understand the extensive work that is probably needed to tame such an issue.

Why is there yet no plattform to buy and sell goods with Ether, similar to ebay?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 03:22 AM PST

So Im going through the network and related websites, and the only things similar to it are sites to buy or sell digital artwork. Those sites often dont work properly but thats a different topic. Anyway Im probably not the first to suggest this but I could be the last.

Im willing to get in on a project to create a Marketplace which uses either Ethereum as currency or really any other stable crypto*.

In fact, I purchased Website Domains related to this topic, I did wanted to sell those for ETH, in a sort of Publicity Stunt, but to my surprise there isnt a single marketplace I could list the domain under anything else than FIAT currency. So I had the Idea: Instead of selling it, use it and create the plattform I envision. Yes I could as well say in the description I only take ETH and sell the Item for 1$, but this might fuck up some things if there are suddenly 200 people wanting it for 1$ but Im not selling it because I only want crypto.

\stable crypto as in: Nothing like Tether or Ripple which are constantly having bad news or practices)

    L2 what am I missing?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 10:50 AM PST

Ethereum gas fees are out of wack right now and I don't really feel like spending 100usd in eth for a small-ish swap. I would also really like to avoid using a centralized exchange.

I'm interested in trying a layer 2 solution to buy an erc-20 with my eth. I found that loopring is the way to go.

Is it as simple as connecting my wallet and proceeding with the swap?

What are some disadvantages besides the fact that this is an off-chain solution, therefore not 100% as safe as on-chain?

Is there an additional step that could save me some eth, like first converting my eth to weth or even buying some LRC to pay for the fee outright, even if it isn't necessary per-se?

Any links on further reading on L2? Other usable L2 solutions?

What is the easy and best way to hold ethereum ?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 01:47 PM PST

Hi friends, I want to buy Ethereum, what is the best way? I know that I need 2 things : first A wallet and second a cryptocurrency exchange like Binance or to buy it from individual seller, but it might be harder to buy.💎

I just want to buy and hold, which wallet do you suggest? Thanks 💫

Is there a “safe” amount to hold on an exchange?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 09:00 AM PST

I know holding long term on an exchange is a bad idea, but is there any amount (say less than $100, $1000, $10,000?) that is safer to hold on an exchange while I figure out transferring to my wallet?

LUKSO will likely be the first Casper beacon chain with smart contracts

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 05:03 AM PST

I am happy to announce that we published the final architecture for the LUKSO Mainnet. And it's already running in an early test version.

This architecture combines a Casper beacon chain (ETH2.0 consensus) with a ETH1.x execution engine (Catalyst).

We have run some initial tests and got upto 450 TPS on a single shard, and this on small machines without optimizing anything.

This architecture allows LUKSO to stay compatible to the development around ETH2.0 and sharding while already being able to run a full EVM chain on top of Casper, long before Ethereum itself.

You can read more about the details here:

A future of decentralized media is now

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 11:11 AM PST

Recently there has been a lot of talk around the fact many accounts have suffered some sort of ban or restriction due to sharing or upholding the views that were in contrast with centralized narratives

This has caused many to question the integrity of current social media platforms, which than lead to another question altogether: Is it finally time for a decentralized social media platform that will return the freedoms we were forced to give away ever since the first centralized platforms appeared?

And it seems like the time for this kind of platform has finally arrived. With Carbon, freedom of speech and data safety become a reality once again. The platform is free and easily accessible to anyone having a MetaMask wallet. Since the username claiming took place, more than 6k accounts have been registered, and the number is increasing by day now.

Recent transfer from a Crbn wallet in amount of a 100k to Gate.io begs the question of first potential big CEX listing for this token, and makes the whole project seem even more bullish than it did before.

The time for a social media revolution iz arriving faster than ever now, and boy am I glad I caught wind of it when I did

Newbie question: Gas cost for transferring ETH to another wallet?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 12:00 PM PST

    Hello,

I'm fairly new to ETH and crypto in general; just stepped in after years of sidelining (and beating myself up over it).

I started buying on LiteBit which has its own wallet system, but since then I've found another exchange (which also provides a wallet) with much lower fees, staking support, etc. I want to transfer my ETH but reading about the gas cost makes me hesitate. It is only a small amount (<$100) and I am reading stories about relatively huge costs, especially for lower amounts.

Should I transfer and if so, what kind of gas fee can I expect? Or should I just let the ETH sit in the original exchange for the foreseeable future?

I couldn't find an answer in other posts. Hopefully someone can help me understand. Thanks in advance.

    Compound/Aave for smaller cap coins?

Hi everyone! Does anyone know of defi apps that allow collateral loans (similar to compound.finance) but also allow you to deposit smaller cap coins like OCTOFI, PARSIQ and others? I'm curious why the larger ones like compound/aave support so few tokens
