Buying/holding ETH is a bigger F*ck you to Wall Street than holding $GME

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 03:30 PM PST

I understand the passion and purpose of buying and holding $GME. I get it. I really do. We make the hedge funds bleed out. But to me, this whole cluster f*ck with Robinhood and $GME has blatantly exposed 2 problems with the traditional finance system that Ethereum solves. I understand there are different narratives as to what is happening with Robinhood so I will address both narratives because Ethereum solves them both.

Narrative 1: Robinhood/brokerages banned buying to make $GME crash to protect the hedge funds.

Solution: Ethereum solves this with decentralized exchanges like Uniswap. Something as absurd as banning buying could never happen on a DEX.

Narrative 2: Robinhood/brokerages temporarily suspended buying because the clearing firms raised their requirement for reserves to 100% for the shares of $GME during settlement (takes 2-3 days)

Solution: Ethereum solves this by settling transactions in minutes, not days.

We need to be pushing harder on marketing this. If the entire r/wallstreetbets community realized how big of an opportunity Ethereum is to take down the assholes in suits, having that momentum behind us thrusting Ethereum's use cases into the spotlight would overthrow the shitty centralized system in a very short amount of time.

When to buy, and what wallet to use?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 12:41 PM PST

Bitcoin has skyrocket too much, and it's been in the media. I can't buy stocks (age), and dogecoin is too much a meme. But ethereum has second highest market volume, no media attention yet, and with the apps the support it it seems actually useful.

I'm uncertain of when to buy though. Based on historic prices, it will drop again in a yearish. But I don't want to miss out on a price increase. Should I buy 50% now and 50% later when it drops/dips?

And what wallet? I'd get a Ledger but that costs half of what I'd be buying. Is coinbase wallet good enough? I wrote down my 12 words.

How Ethereum ended up 2nd place in crypto market ?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 06:54 PM PST

My first mined crypto was doge in 2014, but I always wanted to mine on GPU ETH in 2017.

But I ended up investing in it instead because I liked the project so much in 2017 I was confident somehow that before 2024 ETH will overtake BTC in value. But lately ETH foundation (team) is so late on delivering staking. Other guys have it already why is it so hard ? I am a software dev. I could start just reading and figuring it out on my own but if you have any inf. please let me know.

Been getting into crypto more and I'm looking into Ethereum on Kraken but there's 1.0 and 2.0, which one should I buy?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 02:54 PM PST

So my understanding is 2.0 is only an update to 1.0 but there are two different options I can buy on Kraken. The original and the 2.0 one so I don't know which to get really, it's unclear to me. Any help is always appreciated :)

    Grayscale

Can someone explain what this tweet actually means?

    https://twitter.com/Grayscale/status/1355259561268154368

Has grayscale always been in Ethereum? This tweet makes it sound like they're going to start offering an Ethereum trust except that they said resume. Were they always offering an ETH trust but it was just on pause or something? I know grayscale is one of if not the largest btc whales and if this is them announcing they're acquiring ethereum that seems like huge news that's going relatively uncovered.

Why people massively use UniSwap instead of layer 2 solutions like Loopring or Injective?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 06:33 AM PST

I would imagine that these solutions would get a lot of liquidity from people that trade a lot due the lack or smaller fees for L2 transactions but Uni and Sushi gets all the attention. What are the downsides of these solutions and should we expect the same lack of participation from ZKSwap?

    Bought in 2017 Now What

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 08:11 PM PST

So I bought some ETH back in 2017 when the first spoke happened and the my investment crashed. I let it sit and looking to get back into it. I just bought one coin. I bought on Coinbase then transferred to Geth ethereum wallet.

I tried opening up my Geth Ethereum desktop wallet but I can't get the software to load it was an old version and I updated and something is bonkers.

Anyway I did backup my key and I have it. It's not a a week code just a key save on my computer.

Can I transfer this to another wallet or maybe Coinbase? I tried Coinbase and selected receive but it just gave me a qr code. So yeah need some help figure ing this out.

    question: DOGE to ETH?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 08:03 PM PST

I recovered an old DOGE wallet and I'm trying to convert to ETH.

Atomic wallet on my mac, which I just updated, doesn't have a DOGE wallet suddenly, but my iPhone does... So that's kind of sketchy and I think I'd rather do something else:

    Whats the best way?
