Don't forget about today's ETC fork to Etchash

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 06:06 AM PST

Today at block #11,700,000 ETC will fork to Etchash. The epoch will halven, the DAG size will decrease and 3GB and 4GB cards will be able to mine ETC again. The fork should happen around 19:50 UTC, but you can check time in your local timezone in our DAG size calculator (select ETC, enter epoch 390 or block height 11700000).

Don't forget to update your mining clients.

    5700 behaving badly

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 02:12 AM PST

Hi guys, I have a small rig with 2x 5700, 2x RX480, 1x RX580. My problem is with one of the 5700s, it stops mining after a random time (can be several hours or a day). This card is an MSI Mech OC 5700. I am using an XT bios, with modified clock timings. When it stops mining, Phoenixminer says, that the GPU is not responding. I can not close the mining window, and when I restart the PC (from Windows), I get black screen, only plugging it off helps. I know that MSI 5700s have bad reputation because of high memory temperatures, but I have replaced the thermal pads, so the temps are fine. What I did to fix the issue: -change Riser -change PCI express port -change USB cable -change PSU -downclocking the memory Bit none of these helped. My next idea is to flash the def bios, and check the behavior. Do you have any other idea, what the problem can be?

    Thanks!

MSI RX 5700 XT MESH OC recommended settings for mining?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 03:57 AM PST

So basically I have a rig of 3 msi rx 5700 xt giving 52mh/s and drawing 120Watts each, but I see a lot of people with much more hashrate than mine. My stability settings are -35% power limit and 1800 Memory Clock ( I'm tunning the cards through afterburner ) and I don't have any bios mod.

Should I mod my gpus? If yes what timings should I change?

And what radeon drivers should I use? I'm currently in 20.10.1

Thank you for your help, and sorry if I made a lot of stupid questions.

    Ethermine Stats Confusion

    Ethermine Stats Confusion

    Hi guys...

I've just started mining at Ethermine with 6x Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT which produces around 340 MH/s.

On mining window it's said I have 3260 Accepted Shares, but when I checked on Ethermine website it's only written as 263 Accepted Shares. So, is there something wrong on my side or Ethermine side?

I'm a bit confused, I have mining on Ethermine for around 11 hours now and I've tried to reload the pages hundred of times but the stats on the web still not changed.

    Ethash vs Etchash GPU hasrhates

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 01:12 PM PST

What are we expecting- similar hashrates on the same devices, increases or decreases? I was planning another rig build but if I can pile on cheaper, older cards I have laying around I can save money. I'm wondering if I can estimate my hashrate prior to building it out to see if its worth my time, or just invest in more 5700xt's.

RTX 3090 PC Tower + EGPU?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 01:56 PM PST

I'm just about to upgrade my EGPU+Laptop(egpu is Asus AOG XG w/ RX 580) into a regular RTX 3090 setup, which will be used for mining/gaming.

My idea is to to connect the EGPU into my PC to supplement my mining. Had anyone tried that before? I know mixing cards on one mobo leads to issues, but this should be different since based on AMD XConnect Technology via Thunderbolt

    Power Question

    Posted: 27 Nov 2020 10:07 AM PST

I'm looking to expand to 7 rigs drawing around 1200 watts each. I'd like to keep it a garage operation for now. Currently have a 20A circuit. If I install a 60A, I need to use 240V. Any experience in running 120V PSUs on a 60A 240V circuit? I was thinking a UPS but they are $$$ and typically have 240V I/O.
