How to slow down a rig to reduce noise and reach silence ? Posted: 12 Nov 2020 05:42 AM PST Hello all fellow GPU Miners ! I am reaching for an unusual question : how to slow down my mining to be as silent as possible ? I am mining with HiveOS, for ethereum only, using claymore miner (currently v. 15.0). Currently my temperatures are around 60 degC. Fans are between 40 and 60%. ... and I am sufficiently happy with my hashrate. Here are the cards and their settings Nvidia GTX 1070Ti 8Gb (1 off), auto fan, core -200, mem +750 , 110Watts max AMD RX580 8Gb (2 off), fan 50%, core 900~1000, voltages 890mV, mem 1900, 90 Watts max GTX 1060 6Gb (2 off), fan 60%, core -200, mem +710, 65 Watts max I would like to reduce the noise of the rig, mainly the GPU fans (my PSU fan is ok, really). I am ok in lowering the hashrate but I need to have a stable rig. Also, I'm ok with some percent of fan, I am not aiming for a passive rig ;) and finally I guess targetting temperatures of 70 degC is ok. Could you advise for some parameter or on a way to proceed ? How low can I put the core frequency ? (underclock) How low can I put the power limit ? Do I need to bring the mem frequency down if I lower the power limit ? If yes, how much ? Should I build a 5700 XT mining rig right now or wait? Posted: 11 Nov 2020 10:33 AM PST This deal seems pretty enticing, but I'd like to wait and see if the prices will end up dropping a bit after amd releases their new cards. What do you guys think? I don't think I'll be able to snag a 6800 because I've heard rumors its supposed to be really good for mining, and I'd like to setup my rig before mid next year. [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 11 Nov 2020 03:22 PM PST I currently have a 6x RX570, 8GB rig running great on HiveOs. I'm in the process of building a 2nd Rig. So far for the 2nd Rig, I have the AS Rock H110 BtC Pro, Celeron, 8GB and the Frame is the 6 GPU Veddha. Now the question I have is which cards (thinking Radeon) and power supplies (EVGA) do I go with. Option 1) stick with 6 GPU's and that's it. Not sure how many Power Supplies and ratings. Option 2) start off with 6 GPU's, then in the future, If I want to add 6 more just add another Veddha frame over top and make it a 12 GPU RIG. Not sure how many Power Supplies and ratings. Thanks for the insight. [link] [comments] |
