Extension blocks (and the kindness of strangers?) Posted: 30 Oct 2020 09:51 AM PDT I see that litecoin plans to implement mimblewimble using extension blocks. Mimblewimble is very cool, and I'm happy they got someone from the grin ecosystem to take the lead on implementation. My question is specifically about extension blocks. Do miners need to include extension block transactions in the blocks they mine in order to fulfill some consensus obligation, or could the miners hold the extension block transaction hostage and demand high fees commensurate with the perceived value of the mimblewimble extension block?
