| Are AMD cards not profitable in the future? Posted: 30 Oct 2020 06:12 PM PDT I am building another rig, so this question popped into my mind. Ethereum has confirmed going PoS in about a year, and after that all eth miners need to find a new home. For AMD cards the variety of profitable coins is much smaller than for Nvidia cards. I'd like to get as many opinions as possible on this, because its all still just speculation. Get the community together and get ideas of how the scene around AMD cards is going to change in the future. And especially, if the new AMD cards are a good buy for mining. What I see happening is all alternative currencies for AMD being flooded with hashrate, difficulty going up, profits going down ultimately making AMD mining non profitable. AMD Cards currently have a break even of maximum 10months, so buying them now is still going to break even. Some people are shilling AMD cards really hard though, not mentioning anything about the future. Sorry for the attempt at making a catchy title. Enlighten me. [link] [comments]  |
