Moving coins from old WALLET.DAT to new Litecoin Core Posted: 29 Sep 2020 11:34 AM PDT I'll try to keep this short and simple. I mined some Litecoins a few years ago. When I load the olld Litecoin wallet I installed back then I get the "URGENT: Alert Key Compromised, upgrade required" message. I backed up my WALLET.DAT file, then I downloaded the new Litecoin core, when I run it I get the message: "Unable to rewind the database to a pre-fork state. You will need to download the blockchain. Do you want to rebuild the block database now?" I was told in response to an earlier post of this question that "When it asks if you want to rebuild block database press yes. Wait 1-2 days until syncing finishes, and you should be able to move your coins. Good luck. " Here's the simple question: HOW DO I MOVE THE COINS? It's nice to know that I should be able to move the coins, but no one will give me step-by-step instructions. I can't imagine it being that difficult since I backed up WALLET.DAT file (I also saved the long registration key or whatever it's called.) Thanks to anyone that can just tell me how the heck to move the coins!!!! [link] [comments]
Litecoins hashrate vs. Bitcoins hash rate and why they're undervalued? Posted: 28 Sep 2020 01:26 PM PDT I was listening to a YouTube video with Charlie Lee, which despite what alot of people say I think is probably the best person for lite coin(being that he has no vested stake it in, he's focused on the project alone.) But he said something about the hash rate and why its important to the price via every halving. Thanks in advanced. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Sep 2020 08:23 PM PDT Litecoin has constantly gotten the short end of the stick. Fud has consumed it over and over again. But, it's value lays in its ability to be the silver to bitcoins gold. Otherwise it is a just a knock off coin. Nobody calls silver knock off, and everyone still likes it. At least most. The more I watch Charlie Lee talk the more I can respect him. Imo litecoin is fine the way it is now, but the marketing needs to be silver to bitcoins gold. [link] [comments]
Litecoin a sov? A tradeable more volatile asset to hop in and out of? Whats your use case? Posted: 28 Sep 2020 02:38 PM PDT I argue to use litecoin as a currency unless absolutely necessary is stupid. Same goes for bitcoin. To use either of the 2 as a store of value makes sense but then your betting that people use this as a means of storing a portion of their wealth in it. To trade litecoin makes sense sorta, but fees to trade are to high to even bother when no exchange for stonks makes you pay a fee. I personally believe using bitcoin and litecoin as a stor of value is the best but wouldn't holding btc be better? [link] [comments] |
