I would like to know what should I do about the downsides of pruning the blockchain. I want to use pruning thanks to the country I live on (Venezuela, I don't want my HDD to be filled up by the full-size blockchain getting bigger and bigger), but I do not think it may help, because of the electricity outages (most of the time they are not scheduled or happen either way too soon or way too late in difference of when they were scheduled, in the rare moment they schedule it), so the transactions may end up unfinished. Rescanning the wallet apparently fixes that, but from what I have read, it is not compatible with pruning. Not only I can not attempt to do transactions with my laptop because the battery seems to be defective (it decharges normally, then when it gets close to 90% the battery seems to go down faster until it reaches about 70% and suddenly turns off... using mobile data is not an option; a single gigabyte of data is EXPENSIVE. And the SARS-CoV-2 quarantine does not help, because of how slowly we earn money. By the way, I still did not manage to catch up with the blockchain because of the slow Internet, I am still on the header syncing process. 130 KBps of download maximum. All of this was written to clarify that buying anything is NOT an option for me to solve this. [link] [comments]  |
