Pushing Core Clock Bumping Eth Hashrate More Than Memory (Phoenix Miner) Posted: 02 Sep 2020 07:04 AM PDT I'm not entirely sure if this is a common thing people deal with but I've found that the core clock of my 1070 (Strix) is affecting Ethereum hashrate way more than memory, and by way more I mean there is a negligible difference between +430 and +350MHz on the memory. I tried dropping core clock to -200MHz (expecting hashrate to be gimped pretty hard) and then push the memory a bit harder but in this test the hashrate didn't even budge an inch closer to the original 28.4MH/s. It was pretty much the same (around 26MH/s) even at +400 and +470 mem. All I'm really wondering is if this is something that happens often since from my recollection Ethereum was extremely memory bound and you'd typically sacrifice core clock to push faster memory clocks. If it's helpful I'm running strap 1 in Phoenix Miner 5.1c, power limit is 80%, core is typically 1860MHz while memory is 4233MHz (GDDR5) and it's running on Windows 10 2004 getting about 28.4 to 28.5MH/s when everything else is closed. A few windows updates ago I was able to hit 30MH/s but I made the mistake of not reading about a possible performance hit before the update. I have made sure to set Phoenix as higher priority. Feel free to call me dumb, this just came up because of what I found when messing with power limits and clock speeds and thought it didn't match with what I read about Ethereum liking fast memory. nVidia 3070, 3080, 3090 - What will the hashrates be? Posted: 01 Sep 2020 10:10 AM PDT They are being released in a few September 17, and 24th. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/introducing-rtx-30-series-graphics-cards/ My guess is the 3090 can manage hashrates of 90-115 mh/s on Ethash, just judging by the specs. Hopefully miners will support them in due time. [link] [comments] | ||

Rig Shuts Itself Down After 2-3 Mins of Mining Posted: 01 Sep 2020 10:34 AM PDT Hey all, I've recently started experiencing this problem with my 8xRX580 8 GB rig. It used to run great but now I have this weird problem which I'm trying to solve but was unsuccessful so far. So basically my rig starts mining as usual but after 2-3 minutes, it either restarts of crashes. I used to have 250 MH/s in total, then I decreased my OC settings for a while to 242 MH/S (1 MH/s deduction per card) and it's not fine again. The rig consists of two power supplies, one 850W and one 750W. 4 cards and motherboard and CPU is powered by 850W and other 4 cards are powered by 750W. Sometimes (very rarely) the rig works for a day and it stops. Most of the time (like 95% of the time) it starts running but then stops and it's been bothering me a lot. The rig recognizes all 8 cards without problems at all times when it runs. I have two other rigs with the exact setup and they run 10+ days without stopping. I'm trying to identify what might be the problem with this one. Thank you in advance for all your help. [link] [comments] |
