Life Expectancy of a Double Ball Bearing Fan Posted: 18 Sep 2020 03:51 AM PDT Hello! Só i have a 2080 ventus, which have double ball bearing fans. I'm using it to mine eth (as it is profitable af right now). However the temps are fine (57ºC) i'm afraid of the VRAM temps. They are not measured and because ethash rapes the memory i'm afraid it is reaching dangerous temps for the long run. So i set a very agressive fan curve. This results in fans getting near 100% (3600rpm) along the hottest parts of the day. Now, i have seen the ball bearing fans last very long, so is it safe to run it at these speeds near 24/7? Has anyone with this type of fans provide feedback on how long they can last under load? [link] [comments]

Posted: 17 Sep 2020 11:22 PM PDT Hi everyone. I'm thinking of getting a new GPU, primarily for mining, and I'm looking at an RX 5700 because these seem to be the best price per MH. However, I know these don't have crossfire. Do I need to get the XTs to run these both at once on a normal PC? I'm rather new to GPU mining so I'm sorry if these are stupid questions. Posted: 17 Sep 2020 03:39 PM PDT Can't wait to build my rig. Just ordered 3 rx 5700xt's. I mainly plan to mine ethereum. Anyone have any good references to learn more while I wait for my parts? [link] [comments]
Need Help choosing a Motherboard Posted: 17 Sep 2020 03:01 PM PDT I'll be sending my current mobo in for a refund as it came in being incapable of accessing the bios and it can't handle filling the pcie slots with all gpus contemporaneously. I need a motherboard that can handle my 6 card rig, and has wifi built in or enough pcie lanes to connect a wifi adapter. What are some recommendations on some well tested boards out there that fits these requirements? My processor is an i3-9100f by the way so it needs to be compatible with that cpu (intel mobos only). What to mine after Ethereum 2.0? Posted: 17 Sep 2020 09:33 AM PDT I am thinking about starting crypto mining, mainly because of the current profitable phase. A basic system will amortize in about a year according to my calculations, but I am afraid Ethereum 2.0 will come earlier. In this case, can one estimate if it will be rentable to mine something else, or is this not foreseeable? EDIT: So I read up a bit and in my opinion starting mining now is a bit too risky. Its not sure when Ethereum 2 will come but it can come soon as far as I understood. The Defi hype will pass too so I will pass on that. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Sep 2020 12:58 PM PDT Hello everyone, I wonder what happens if I put three RX 5700 cards onto my rig with a 1200W PSU (Continuum 80 PLUS Platinum Netzteil, modular - 1200 Watt). How will this affect profitability or would it even hurt the cards? Thanks for your help in advance. [link] [comments]
Hive Os Shutdown command reboots pc. Posted: 17 Sep 2020 09:46 AM PDT Anyone know why? I send the command to shutdown and it just reboots normally.... [link] [comments] |
