Posted: 01 Sep 2020 04:24 AM PDT This is just a word of caution because I'm seeing massive greed currently in the Crypto-space. I'm not just talking about Miners, who are enjoying high block rewards from ETH and high ETH prices, but any investors in yDEFI. I see this as ICO's ALL over again. 2017-2018 started the ICO craze which pumped ETH to crazy highs. https://www.coindesk.com/yearn-yam-cryptos-weird-defi-moment Miners seeing great profits jumped on board, many only starting in 2018 when ETH was $1,400. I saw many people/youtube channels pop-up, then die because they didn't plan to survive the bear market. ETH hit $1400.... then $500... then by 2018 Dec $80. Where are the miners then? Gone. Didn't give AF about ETH, pure greed, overspending thinking that "ROI in just a few months!" So a word of caution to all NEW miners, if you're thinking "wow I can ROI a 8-RX5700XT rig in 2 months!" I'm going to throw all my Credit/cash on it. Don't do it. Stop. Think about it. ONLY Start mining if you accept that it may take a FULL YEAR to ROI that one rig. If actually does ROI before than, amazing!, if not you might be screwing yourself. expecting fast, quick returns, I say this to everyone yDEFI is creating crazy massive greed, which in turn is pushing ETH to new price highs and BR for miners to new highs. Ask yourself this, WHAT happens if the yDEFI "black-swans?" Well there goes all ETH rewards and Price. ETH was sitting between $100-$300 for 2 YEARS. Think of that. Can you ROI your 5k rig at 2.0 Rewards with $200~ Ethereum? So please, think. use rational thought, not greed. Understand your taking a RISK. You must ask yourself "If I start mining now, and everything just fails, will I be OK(money wise)?" I'm happy new people are discovering ETH, GPU Mining, and hope you all actually stay and contribute to the community. Enjoy the rewards while they last! [link] [comments]  |
