Incentives for shard operators? Posted: 19 Sep 2020 12:25 PM PDT What incentives will there be for the operators of shard clients? Is that something that will be opt in, or will all validators participate in running the shards too? [link] [comments] | ||

Why can't I see my transactions on Etherscan? Posted: 19 Sep 2020 12:50 PM PDT I tried swapping UNI for Eth, but approval was taking very long, so I decided to check the status on Etherscan. I saw no results. I tried sending to Binance, I still cannot see the transaction on Etherscan. When I go to my profile it only shows transaction from 2 days ago. Here is an approval: 0x065d2ab7e86ccb1782ca4f32fde33997a9e5e6aadafd5e42091a0f1a4e615428 When I ever I search those up on Etherscan I see nothing. It's been an hour now. Anyone else having this issue? Random number oracle by majority vote Posted: 19 Sep 2020 02:47 AM PDT I posted this idea a while back here and reposting it. It seems like a pretty secure approach to random number generation in a "world computer" is to simply have the entire human population vote on a number, collectively acting like an Oracle. As long as the majority or something like that is honest, they ought to converge on a number that is pretty much randomly generated. In most RNG schemes, entities choosing to not reveal a pre-committed hash, etc, can give attacking parties disproportionate amount of control. But when the entities just simply vote, choosing to "not reveal vote" has no such effect. This of course requires a way to decide who gets to vote. I have designed a proof-of-unique-human system and it solves that, it is the reason I'm thinking about secure RNG in "world computers". [link] [comments] |
