Unable to control fans with phoenixminer (AMD) Posted: 22 Aug 2020 06:12 AM PDT Hey guys, I had to shutdown my mining rig as a lightning storm was present. When I started it again my 2x 4GB RX570 cards was only mining at 0-0,8MH/s so I updated to latest phoenixminer and AMD driver to 20.4.2. Now they are mining again but I am unable to control the fans of my cards. I have tried all the different fan parameters (-tt, -fcm, -fanmin, -tmax etc) but they do absolutely nothing. Only way to adjust the fan control is via AMDs radeon settings, but these settings will reset if rig restarts or if driver crashes and my GPUs will get extremely hot. Anyone know how I can regain control of the fans? [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Aug 2020 12:55 AM PDT Is it normal that as cards get older you struggle to get the MH rate you previously had? I have some 1070s that are a couple of years old , I used to get 31-32 MH for ETH mining when new , now I struggle to get 27-28 no matter what settings I use. Any tips on what can be done ? Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Aug 2020 11:29 PM PDT Hey guys, I've recently stumbled across this whole cryptocurrency mining thing and id like to get into it. Could you guys help me kut by letting me know what cards i should get and what crypto to trade. Please keep in mind that im 19 and in college and im not able to afford something like a 2080 ti. Any other info would be greatly appreciated. Also i currently have a gaming pc with a 2070 super, is it worth just running that card by itself? [link] [comments]

Worth mining on a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 3GB? Posted: 21 Aug 2020 06:16 PM PDT I got my hands on an old PC and it has Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 3GB in it. The CPU is Intel Core 2 Quad which is about 12-13 years old. The RAM is 4GB and also this old. I intend to get a lightweight linux distro on it. What can I mine on it? Is it worth it? From a mining perspective, is selling a RVII and buying a Ampere at launch a good idea? Posted: 21 Aug 2020 09:59 AM PDT Obviously the question is mostly hypothetical since we don't know the final specs. After seeing current prices for the Radeon Vii, I'm tempted to sell as I scored mine for $490 used in Jan. I'm usually 50/50 gaming and mining so it'd be dual purpose in the end. Thoughts from you guys? [link] [comments] |
