osgang: funding for oss devs (using ether) Posted: 13 Aug 2020 07:06 AM PDT I decided to focus on open source and built a simple website for myself and other developers to fairly profit from oss projects by receiving paid messages from users seeking support or requesting new features. You can currently do that w/ ether and zcash. [link] [comments]

Has this alternative to token models been explored? Posted: 13 Aug 2020 09:05 AM PDT As an alternative incentive model, non-tokenized projects could collect small fees over the course of all user interaction that eventually accrue to the total project cost. Once the total project cost has been supplied to a development team's wallet, their wallet is unlocked, and the fees stop accruing.
Example: Lucy develops a very easy-to-use non-tokenized defi aggregator app that quickly manages $1B of assets. Instead of issuing a token, she collects 0.05% fee on deposits until she has collected 200 ETH. At that point, there is no longer any fee on deposits and the contracts have zero overhead and are completely part of the public domain.
Uniswap was developed for free and relied on Ethereum Foundation grants. Maybe it could have used this model to fund itself without requiring a token.

Posted: 13 Aug 2020 08:53 AM PDT This trick works best if you swap often and want to dedicate part of your ETH stack to swap trading. The main idea is to convert that part of your ETH stack to WETH. Once you have your WETH stack, simply start swapping to WETH instead of ETH. So : Instead of : Why does it work ? Because Uniswap works with Wrapped ETH (see http://weth.io), so it calls wrapping and unwrapping functions every time you swap with ETH (this is my intuitive understanding). This creates overhead, which then translates to extra gas costs. Make sure you keep enough unwrapped ETH to pay for gas ***** tl;dr just use WETH instead of ETH when you swap 0x6c1DdFb81A3666188267296F10253a5A9b5BAe40 is my address if u wanna tip me ;-) [link] [comments]

Can someone help me get my ENS deposit back? Posted: 13 Aug 2020 10:27 AM PDT Here's the transaction in specific that shows the deposit: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x2d6061f065c2245d26d49a8ca3df18006449fbfbb06b311c63b71c63b7571557 As you can see on the account, I did try to refund it already, but only got the deposit for another domain back, not the big one. Also, there seems to be 2 ENS tokens on my account, but I see no way to exchange them back to ETH... Can someone help me? Would love to get some savings back that I recently stumbled upon again :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Aug 2020 05:51 PM PDT I'm new to crypto. If I buy an erc 20 token with etg. Let's say I swap 1 eth (let's say eth is at $400) for said token and the token is at $0.05. If eth goes up in value, let's say to $500. Will I get less eth in return if I cash out. Let's say token stayed at the same price. Any help would be great. Thank you [link] [comments]

What stopped this from being replicated? Posted: 13 Aug 2020 10:07 AM PDT https://www.coindesk.com/the-defi-flash-loan-attack-that-changed-everything I' ve read that this technique was exploited twice when discovered. What was the flaw/bug that was "fixed" and prevented this from happening again? [link] [comments]
