ABC are not magical wizards. This is the deception upon which their power rests. If people believe they are irreplaceable, then ABC can get away with murder.

I can do what they do. I am doing what they do. Lots of people in this space are qualified to do what they do.

Actually -- what they do is back-port Core all day. They don't even write their own code. It's 95% smoke and mirrors what they do.

But I digress -- we have to dispel the perception that they are somehow special or unique. They are just a software project. And we have no shortage of qualified programmers in this space (still).

    Here is an example:

Let me tell you about Flowee. It works great and has worked great for years. It's run by 1 guy, Tom Zander. He's doing it all on the cheap. It's 100% compatible with everything and runs great.

What Amaury's team does can be done literally by 1 guy in his spare time. It is being done literally by 1 guy in his spare time!

Now, having been in this space for years -- let me explain the dev team racket to you:

ABC is not as expensive as ABC would have you believe. They are just trying to inflate the numbers and have everybody convinced it's super expensive to do what they do -- so that they can, you know, get more money.

    It's a deception.

    1. First, convince you to not use anybody else's software because theirs doesn't have the cooties but everybody else's does.
    2. Next, once you're all running their stuff -- ask for lots of money.
    3. You will pay up. You'll be too afraid to say no.

    That's the racket.

    Bitcoin: Debate Over Scaling (Documentary)

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 11:26 PM PDT

A day or two ago Egon said he wasn't going to post any more until BCH hits $350.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 08:19 PM PDT

When he posted that, I think BCH was still less than $300. It seems he won't have been gone for very long at all as we are about to hit $350 soon it seems... I wonder what his first post will be once he is back.

Roger's dumped his Bitcoin Core - interview with Pomp. Bullish.

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 01:01 AM PDT

In the interview with Pomp, Roger states that he now only owns 50:50 BCH:BTC.

Considering he's a main player behind Bitcoin (cash) it doesn't get more bullish than that!

Justin Bons to Amaury: "This is a betrayal of BCH Independence Day..."

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 10:32 AM PDT

Amaury: "ABC decides the Consensus rules of ABC...the way it works is you need to go and convince them...

Question: "What about a BIP process."

Amaury: "Good idea, but it doesn't work. We tried in the past many processes and the main reason they did not work is people don't want it to work. I don't know if it is still their position, but for the longest time BU's position was we could not have any find of process at all."

*Minor discussion that BU has an internal process but not external*

Justin Bons: "So you are suggesting we should have a governance model like BTC Core...this is a betrayal of BCH Independence day to me..it makes me sad."

Amaury: "But it happens everywhere" *Then Amaury loses connection*

(I think it's good to have these discussion. I like to hear what Amaury has to say, even if I don't agree.)

Bitcoin.com wallet, can u pls put the link for windows/linux on top of the page?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 02:48 PM PDT

The "other versions" on top of the page leads to the github page, and it doesnt say there which is which (not all of us are tech geeks)

You have to go to the very bottom to find the windows link.

My cousin called me while I was at work asking which wallet to DL, I told him bitcoin.com,... but after not being able to find the windows link, he Downloaded Exodus instead.

It's probably more newbie friendly if the links are on top. just sayin...

PSA: Even though the new Electron Cash release with CashFusion (4.1.0) has the same version number as the pre-security audit CashFusion-specific release, the new version *is* updated. So if you've been using the pre-audit CashFusion release, it's still worth upgrading to the newest release.

Bitcoin Cash House Reopening on August (Read Cash Meetups, Workcenter, BCH Day and more)

Happy 3 years of Bitcoin Cash and Thank you to all the Developers of the World who made this wonder of technology possible

After several days of meetings and preparing some agreements, I finally decided to publish the reopening of the Bitcoin Cash house in Venezuela. We plan to open next week, starting the month of August with a lot of energy and work, but this time we will do it with some initiatives extraordinary

If we raise enough, we can open on Monday, August 3

The Quarantine in Venezuela affected twice as much as it affected the rest of the world, however today is July 30 and in Venezuela there are no more than 11 thousand confirmed cases, I can say that we are better than other countries

This does not mean that the economy has not stopped, in fact during these months of quarantine since March Venezuelans ate all the savings, prioritizing only food and medicine, just like the rest of the world. And after negotiating the payment of the rent I was able to pay the month of June but the production did not give me to pay the month of July and I had to close, momentarily until I made other agreements

Questions about BSV in Coinbase wallet

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 01:42 AM PDT

I had some BCH a couple years ago in a Coinbase wallet and didn't touch it or look at it until today.

Now I see I have BSV in my Coinbase wallet. I am vaguely aware there was a fork but not sure what that means (can you pick one or the other after the fork?) I have a few questions about this:

    1. Shouldn't the default have been that I I kept the BCH that I had in my Coinbase Wallet? How did it get "converted" to BSV?

    2. Was there anything I could have done to "choose" BCH over BSV in my Coinbase Wallet? Or did I lose out because it toook me over a year after the fork to do anything?

I will be doing a BSV/BCH pair trade on CoinEx then moving it back to Coinbase, or at least attempting to.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 11:18 PM PDT

    Are we buying this dump?

Potentially this is very lucrative opportunity to buy some cheap coins if bch will break out (500 usd will be the major resistance as it was rejected both summer 2019 and earlier this year).

A lot of coins have been breaking out already so I am leaning towards the bullish scenario here, but who knows.

    Intentional price manipulation taking place...

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 10:21 PM PDT

From the looks of it, something is extremely off. Bitcoin was rallying in price by a big margin, and all the other coins were rallying by a higher margin. It looks like BTC has only dropped 1% yet BCH out of nowhere dropped 10% in less than an hour. Before I get any wise-ass comments from trolls about "unloading bags", that doesn't seem to be the case. This sort of dump is VERY out of the ordinary, and something is going on here. It's going to be hard to de-throne Bitcoin if BTC whales have the most power (their coin having the highest market cap). This looks like orchestrated price movement by what I can only speculate being exchanges. Get a rally going, making people bullish on Bitcoin, getting them to buy, and keep upwards momentum, and then when dominance goes too low, cause a crash to maintain BTC's position and market dominance. It seems like a clear control over the state of the market to try and ensure nothing else succeeds, further promoting the "store-of-value" narrative.

Edit: Not to mention that it seems extremely suspicious that Bitcoin has a pump after Ethereum goes up by a significant amount. Even being second in the market, I saw the Bitcoin pump occur hours later. Are there orchestrated pumps and dumps happening on Bitcoin to maintain market dominance?

What are the numbers here when using CashFusion?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 05:58 AM PDT

Genuine question -- does anybody know of any crypto that has >11 minute block targets? Or will Bitcoin Cash be the only one if Grasberg is activated?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 02:27 AM PDT

If we are the crypto with the slowest targeted block time -- it will not be a good look. Just sayin'.
