In the beginning, they say "It's no longer a conversation about, whether this is going to happen -- whether we'll see an issuance of this kind of opportunity. It's a matter of when and how." They also talk about how CBDC's will fit the use-case for different governments, maintaining their sovereignty and culture while leveling the playing field so to speak. They talk about lowering the entry threshold so the non-banked get an equal opportunity into the infrastructure being built. Interesting to note, they also say: "We also have things like cryptocurrency- like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which is not what we are talking about today," and we've talked about how in the crypto market most of them (especially those without a use case) will fall to the wayside. What made me put this here is their talk about the importance of interoperability of CBDC's. They really focus hard on this in the middle section of the video. They basically say a CBDC without interoperability will just be more of the same and they wish to move into easy access, creating a network that allows money to be moved anywhere just like the internet. They also talk about the importance of regulation and involving the private sector to help with the process of networking. Ripple is in great position to slide into this use-case. Posted: 18 Jul 2020 09:55 AM PDT CNBC: 5G is Accelerating Factory Automation Which Could Add Trillions to Global Economy You hear a lot of talk from the naysayers when price speculation is brought into the conversation regarding XRP. I'm not one that usually indulges in this, but I thought I'd take a swing at it. They talk about market cap and GDP determining the speculative value of a coin. These are true and legitimate points. Triple-digit XRP coin values in the market that exists today, would probably not be possible. This is where the 5G infrastructure comes into play. With China and the US in a tech cold war, racing to be the first to get their hands in the pot, 5G and quantum computing/networking could possibly add to the GDP at levels that could make a triple-digit XRP price very possible. I'm not saying prices will rise to that level, I'm only saying, as investors we tend to think about the future. I think 5G is going to play a big part in making the interoperability aspect of XRP work seamlessly. So when you hear, "It's never going to get that high." I wouldn't pay it much attention. :-) [link] [comments]  |
