    Mixed rig... hmmm...

    Posted: 17 Jul 2020 12:02 AM PDT

So i made a rig out of all spare stuff i had lying around. 3x Rx580, 1x 2070. Running on w10, asrock mining board, 4gb ram. The 2070'run stable on kawpow, but the three amd cards running ethash show different hashrates. Sometimes all three cards run 30mh/s, but two of them unexpectedly fall back to 15 mh. This can be after hours or just afternreboot. Switching between claymore and phoenix does Not solve it. All cards are set to compute mode. Removing the nvidia card does seem to solve it. I know mixed rigs are often troublesome but does anyone have tips how to let nvidia and amd live under the same roof under windows 10?

What mining MB do you reccomend?

So I'm using Hive OS (love it) on two H110 motherboards, and it works nicely IF the motherboard detects all the graphics cards on boot. I often have to manually reboot and cycle power 3 to 5 times until it detects all the cards.

I have them scheduled to shut off during my peak electricity rate hours during the summer, but if I can't have them reliably detect ALL the cards on reboot, then my OC settings get mismatched to the cards, and some start to really overheat..... (mix of 470, 570, and 580 cards). So I NEED reliability (and I'm going to try and make each rig only one type of card ASAP)

What high GPU count motherboard works reliably? apparently this detection issue is common for the H110's, and I've heard that the B250's also have a reputation for problems.

If I shift to a different MB, what do you suggest for reliability?

Just set up a 6 AMD RX580 8gb mining rig and having issues

Currently mining Kapow on nicehash for a few days now. I've had no problems up until nicehash updated today and a few of my cards that were running at around 75C, now getting temps of 85C-90C on 2 of the 6 cards. I also noticed profitability went way down after the update. Was mining Kapow at ~5000 sats a day per card, now it has bumped down to ~2500 sats and when it first starts up I get a negative profitability reading (-2000 sats per card) for about the first 15 seconds. I made no changes on my end and stuck on what my next steps are. Has anybody seen this before?

I planed on getting off nicehash since I have a larger amount of hash power but don't believe that will help my overheating issues.

    Current Setup:

    1600W PSU

    Biostar B250+ Pro Mobo

    8GB Ram

    i5-6400 CPU

    6 * AMD RX580 8gb

    Windows 10 pro

    Would appreciate any guidance. Thanks

Edit: Negative profitability was because the 3.0.4.0 update ticked include electricity costs and gave me a net return. Going to underclock the GPUs in question and run for a few days to see if that helps my temp issues
