ConsenSys amassing 20,000 GPUs for Ethereum Mining? What? Posted: 25 Jun 2020 09:43 AM PDT Something fishy going on. "W3BCLOUD currently operates 6,000 GPUs, but the $20.5 million investment will enable it to more than triple that number to 20,000 units, with plans for even more in the future." "Broadly, the GPUs will form the backbone for a new decentralized computing infrastructure, Aburida said, and they'll be deployed initially onto Ethereum. But both co-founders refused to be drawn on the specifics, and wouldn't say what initiatives, if any, were in the pipeline." https://www.coindesk.com/amd-backed-project-amasses-20k-gpus-blockchain-consensys Does this mean they expect ProgPoW for ETH to succeed this year? or for ETH-ASICs to dump off once 4GB Dag is reached with no more being deployed. Why would they invest 20 MILLION with an AMD Partnership into a massive GPU mining farm? [link] [comments] | ||
