What are your reasons for owning crypto?

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 08:02 PM PDT

I'm new to the crypto world, and I'm trying to understand the use case for crypto, especially to everyday people. I recently made a post asking how many of you use crypto as a currency, and got a lot of great responses! I'd love to know what other reasons there are that someone would want to own crypto? Speculative investing and trading are some obvious ones, but what other benefits do you get from buying and using crypto?

    Compound ELI5?

    Posted: 24 Jun 2020 02:11 AM PDT

I've been out of the loop this past month while COVID was going on so crypto didn't have my full attention but every day for the last little while there have been articles about how high the interest rates are for loaning some coins on Compound. Like they're 30% or more, so how can that be sustainable? Are people really paying more than that to borrow? Or is this thing a house of cards ready to collapse?

To the early investors of r/CC: Where do you usually hear about a token and it‘s still cheap price before everybody else?

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 08:13 PM PDT

Reeally stupid question I know, I know. Because why should someone give away his source. But it still puzzles my mind, so maybe there are some nice people in here willing to share.

Since COMP and MKR I am wondering where you have heard about it when it was unknown and cheap if you invested early? Only to name two examples..

(Before the price takes off and the ranking reaches Top 10-30.)

Or what is your strategy of picking the right investment token?

    Was just a showerthought

Why does Coinbase Pro allow blatant spoofing by bots?

    Posted: 23 Jun 2020 07:45 PM PDT

Watching level 2 order books every day and there is such blatant spoofing happening on almost every coin. It's fucking ridiculous. These bots will throw up huge fake sell / buy walls, and constantly bounce around the order book without ever filling. Typical spoofing bullshit.

It states very clearly in Coinbase terms that spoofing and manipulation is not allowed, but it's rampant and so obvious even a newb could spot it.
