Ethereum's USD price just passed Bitcoin Cash

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 10:04 AM PDT

To be fair, more like it blew right passed.

If you haven't noticed, Ethereum is killing it right now. I think we (as a community) should take notice and see what they're doing "right" and what we can mimic (read. what makes sense for BCH). Imo, the most "obvious" thing are the DeFi platforms that are absolutely exploding! It's '17 ICOs all over again (and might I add, we're ALL heading into a bull-market by years-end)

As the introduction of AnyHedge has shown us, Bitcoin Cash can do DeFi very well .. they were the first ones out-the-gate and got the ball rolling for us .. but where are ALL the other BUIDLers?? General Protocols can't be the ONLY team working on creating "value"-adding services on top of Bitcoin Cash. For comparison, Consensys currently has over 1,000+ BUILDers, one single organization..

How does BCH get 10s to 100s of BUILDers?? Funding, yeah, I get it!! Do we NOT need talk about this more seriously?!?

Gas fees on Ethereum are at ATHs .. Until ETH 2.0 is released there is a DEFINITELY an opportunity to grab some significant DeFi market share. Which I'd like to point out means onboarding folks that wield fuck-loads of cash .. but will that happen?? NOT without TEAMS of developers working on projects..

Oh well, maybe Avalanche will solve the user adoption issues, lol j/k .. but not really

I will continue to keep bringing attention (read. annoying y'all to death) to the fact that WE NEED MANY, MANY MORE "VALUE"-ADDING SERVICES (for users, merchants, investors, etc etc), NOT just better infrastructure (as sooo many seem to be hyped up on) to properly grow this community and start making the name Bitcoin synonymous with CASH again..

(Thought experiment): BCH adoption versus USDH adoption...what's your opinion on this?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 08:15 PM PDT

    Imagine two hypothetical cities:

    • Both cities have a similar population count

    • Both are in first-world nations and have similar economic activity.

    • Both are geographically separated such that commerce rarely happens between them.

    • Both have a large population of immigrants participating in the remittance market.

    • Both region's transact primarily in their respective fiat currencies (roughly 95% of total commerce).

    • Both have large crypto-communities spending at local businesses (roughly 5% of total commerce).

    • Both have a similar amount of internet transactions.

The only major difference between the two:

    • One city has 1,000 merchants that accept BCH directly (Bitcoin Cash City)

    • The other city has 1,000 merchants that accept USDH directly. (USDH City)

With all things being equal, which city do you think will produce more transactions on the Bitcoin Cash network year over year? What about in 5 years? Why?

Leave me your SLP address and I'll give you some BCH and USDH if your answer is constructive and well thought out. :)

Current Situation: Economy weakened by COVID19 + Summer Holidays are starting. All crypto markets will go down, including Bitcoin Cash

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 04:02 PM PDT

I see a lot of voices asking why is BCH price dropping.

The most probable cause is simply start of Summer Holidays and Economy Weakened by Coronavirus plus unstable USA political situation.

Because of all of these reasons, people have less money to SPEDN, Speculate, Invest or Risk in general. All of it is taking a toll. And BCH is not yet seen as a "safe-haven" class of asset, so every instability hits it more than BTC or ETH.

In my opinion Crypto Market will enter a sleep or instability period for next 2 months and resume in Autumn, when holidays are over, similarly as observed in all previous years - even in BTC, pre-2017 times.

    Nothing new here.

    Discuss.
