BCH wake up call: Whatsapp/Libra/Zuckbucks launching payments in Brazil

BCH wake up call: Whatsapp/Libra/Zuckbucks launching payments in Brazil

    https://www.facebook.com/zuck/posts/10112015383177591

"Today we're starting to launch payments for people using WhatsApp in Brazil. We're making sending and receiving money as easy as sharing photos. We're also enabling small businesses to make sales right within WhatsApp.

To do this, we're building on Facebook Pay [..]Brazil is the first country where we're widely rolling out payments in WhatsApp. More to come soon!"

So. Crazy news, right? I remember a few people, one of them fintech expert Faisal Khan, who pointed out that Libra and its offshoots will eat our lunch soon enough. They didn't talk out of their asses. But many replies to that, thinking back, were hand waved out of some asses. I don't think we can dismiss this reality and should be aware of it to be able to do something about it.

The competition doesn't sleep. Are we awake? This is 'bad' news in a way. However, I hope it serves as motivation to really push for growing our pie. Think about it, we are actually just as a giant as Facebook. We are Bitcoin. Permissionless, international, civilizational. Our potential is actually bigger than Facebook/Whatsapp, you know what I mean? We are the Whatsapp of Money and we are decentralized. And even 'as is' we could essentially be so more useful than Zuck-bucks ever can be. But we have to get there. I urge everyone, who still stands for the idea and cause of P2P Cash to really activate, if he hasn't done so.

From what I can tell, we are actually gaining traction in Africa, as the crypto world is growing. And it will be the same anywhere else, where it is usefeul. But BCH has still poor supply and in Africa, the major exchanges like Paxful do not even support it, which is a big hurdle for us. I know, there is local.bitcoin, I build bchghana.org around it. But we have to spread awareness, if we really want to be the alternative platform, sidestepping all the major exchanges, that others use. And with a 'Dexchange' we even have an edge.Bitcoin Cash is a giant, but only if we all connect together and build. .

Noob question about incorrectly splitting BSV - are my BCH now at risk?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 08:59 PM PDT

Preface: I learned about BSV and 'replay' attacks after moving my BCH. I've since come to learn that BSV should have been safely split out before moving the BCH.

Current situation: I've moved BCH out of a legacy address into a new CashAddr. I've checked block explorers online, and found that while the BCH balance (in the legacy address) is 0, the BSV balance in that same address is still available (i.e. my tx hasn't been 'replayed' on BSV).

Question: If I now use a BSV wallet to move the BSV from that same legacy address to a newly created BSV address (whatever that looks like!), will that put my BCH at risk in any way at all?

    Thanks for any info.

    1. Install the app on the app store https://www.swissborg.com/community-app-referral
    2. Use the code SYIXCZQ when it asks for the referral code (only works if you use the code and the link)
    3. Done! You will receive 3,000 CHBS points.
    4. Predict daily bitcoin swings (up or down) and earn badges (more CHSB) and climb the ladder for btc.
    5. Very cool and well design app have a look at it
