Access to traditional banking for less fortunate people in Germany (Basiskonto) Posted: 30 Jun 2020 03:34 AM PDT So in Germany, a couple of years ago, there was a court ruling that banks couldn't decline poor people, especially homeless people, from opening a bank account in their houses. This kind of service was supposed to be called "Basiskonto", translated something like "base-level bank account". I haven't heard about it for a while, however today I came across this piece of news: https://www.gmx.net/magazine/panorama/arme-nutzer-hohe-gebuehren-bgh-urteilt-basiskonto-34837686 Apparently, banks were charging like 10€ per month for their "Basiskonten", which a new court ruling deemed unjustified, as the target group obviously had a hard time affording it. In a nutshell: Receive a bail-out once a decade and only care about maximising shareholder value. In the current system, banks are naturally incentivised to act socially irresponsible I guess. This system is due to be taken down. Just thought I'd share. Good day to everybody! [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Jun 2020 12:45 AM PDT Is the 1099 document the only way the irs knows of my bitcoin buying selling and stuff like that? Is there any other way for the irs to know that I am not aware of? Using coinbase (yes, I know, it's not the best.) [link] [comments]
To CoinJoin or not to CoinJoin, that is the question? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 06:27 PM PDT Hello all would like to get a feel for what others do. I'm wondering if to CoinJoin, and for what purpose? Should you CJ all your funds? What are the pros and cons of CoinJoin? Thank you! 😊 [link] [comments]

Paxful wallet broken or website hacked? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 11:02 PM PDT Just reading on Paxfuls subreddit that people are having issues withdrawing, they can't withdraw. And people are also having issues with depositing, wallet deposit address has changed apparently and deposits are not showing up. They have been doing a few updates recently, well it's what they are saying they are doing, but who knows, certainly isn't look good is it. The website has had other reports of bugs, I'm guessing it's best to not touch the wallet until safe to do so. [link] [comments] |
