A dog walker’s thank you to r/Bitcoin community

    Posted: 06 May 2020 12:09 AM PDT

My son wanted to accept bitcoin as payment for dog walking So if you remember I asked about the best ways to get this done. This was about a year ago. Surprisingly although people mostly still used cash he picked up some bitcoin clients. Nothing huge but pretty cool. But, his tips were always consistent in btc regardless of price. These were real adopters.

We moved and the business is now gone but he still has the btc. After seeing the money he has made through a sweat labor DCA approach he now wants allowance in btc, birthday money from family, etc. I think we've created a monster. I wish I could do the same.

We've had the talk about risky assets and having all of his eggs in one basket. After figuring out the value of the dollar compared to what it used to be he decided it is still his preference. I can't disagree, with only spending money at risk. It started a great conversation in inflation v. debasement.

He is a Hodler, but I suspect that is due to limited purchasing opportunities. We will see when he finds a way to buy more games with btc.

Now my daughter wants a wallet. SMH

Above all, he wanted to thank this group for getting him started. I second this.

A few weeks ago I made a post about bitcoin halving search rate being triple what it was the last halving and it had incomplete results as April had not yet ended. Well, April has ended and the results are in. We're looking at a 3.33x increase in search rate.

    Posted: 06 May 2020 02:52 AM PDT

Social chatter around the Bitcoin halving has increased dramatically since the start of 2020.

Just learned a valuable lesson: hold

    Posted: 05 May 2020 02:39 PM PDT

I sold my (fraction of a) bitcoin at $8500 because it looked like it might be dipping and I thought I could sell then rebuy at a lower price and now its at $9000.

    I feel like a fool.

Comparing the US Dollar monetary system to a potential Bitcoin one

    Posted: 05 May 2020 07:16 AM PDT

Recently got into trading and sending Bitcoin, without research decided to try and send BTC to a mixer and (despite 151 confirmations) the mixer has yet to display the funds I sent

    Posted: 05 May 2020 10:54 PM PDT

I sent a fair amount of BTC to "Bitcoin Blender" (bitcoin-blender.com is the non tor link) and have I haven't received any kind of indication from that site that it made it there to the blender wallet. I have confirmation from my blockchain and the place I sent the coin from (Coinbase, yeah ik it's pretty basic) but I can't get confirmation from bitcoin blender.

Does anybody have any experience with that mixer in particular and have I made a huge mistake? I'm thinking of switching to wasabi but I want to know if I've screwed the pooch before I keep thinking of even doing this.
