Still got a Rig collecting dust?? Use it to help in the fight against COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Posted: 13 Mar 2020 08:35 AM PDT Hello Everyone, Not sure if any of you guys are familiar with Folding@home, it involves donating you're computers processing power to aid in researching various diseases. Recently, folding@home added the Coronavirus to the list of diseases (read more @ https://foldingathome.org/2020/03/10/covid19-update/ ) The folks over at r/folding are asking if any of you guys have any systems kicking around, booting them up and donating some power to aid in the fight. If you want to join reddit's folding team, the group number is " 50959 ". You can read more below, or at the link posted above regarding this topic. Mind you, I am not an expert in the topic, just someone looking to help. https://lifehacker.com/how-to-assist-coronavirus-research-with-folding-home-1842270929 [link] [comments]

Posted: 12 Mar 2020 06:02 PM PDT Hi All, I'm building a deep learning/mining rig with 4 GPUs. It's an open air rig with all of the GPU's having non-blower style GPU's (just the open fan ones). I always see other rigs having all the GPU's stacked consecutively next to each other and facing each other with PCI risers. Doesn't that decrease optimal airflow/heat dissipation? And is it better if I tilt/pitch and mount each one at a certain angle such that none of them are facing each other and each one is bringing in air at a different angle? So sideview instead of them looking like this: | | | They look more like something like this: \ | / Or does it not make much of a difference? [link] [comments]
ProgPOW performance of P104-100 Posted: 12 Mar 2020 10:51 PM PDT There's a bunch of progpow benchmarks around but only with mainstream cards, not mining one. I suspect the P106 will perform similarly to GTX1060's, but what about a P104-100 since it's a gimped 1080 optimized for ethash? Anyone experience or predictions with progpow hashrate for P104?
