Discussion of the Day; Monero XMR

    Posted: 20 Mar 2020 02:11 PM PDT

-Today's Crypto of the Day is Monero XMR, and it's current price is $38.62.

-Initially, since my first crypto of the day post on 2/18/20, I waited to post specific information on each project until people made posts. I waited to help prevent bias. Based on feedback, I now post information early to show I am not going for low effort posts, and actually trying to facilitate qualify discussions. Please feel free to search for my other posts, to see the information I and others have added.

-So far, I have featured all 20 crypto from Coinbase, 26 from Coinbase Pro, and 5 from Gemini. I now plan to finish the remaining ones on Binance US, Kraken, and others. Just because I feature a project does not mean I like it. I feel discussion on bad projects are just as important as the good ones. It is useful to hear pros and cons about every project, even if you are simply playing devils advocate.

-These posts are not meant to be financial advice, but instead to be an educational discussion. Everyone is responsible for doing their own research. For each project, I am interested in learning if you have any investment in it, and if so, about what percentage of your portfolio does it carry. Most importantly, what should we all know; good, bad, and indifferent, about this project?

-My challenge to each of you is to learn and post about projects you do not currently hold. It is easy for anyone to shill a coin they are trying to make a profit on, or to simply downvote and troll something they do not. As a community, let's all try to encourage intellectual discussion on any and all projects out there. We can all learn a lot from each other if we try...

HIVE - the worlds first decentralized social media network

    Posted: 20 Mar 2020 02:33 AM PDT

Hey everyone, what a crazy past few weeks it's been for anyone following Steem. I am sure many people are confused as to what exactly is going on so I've decided I would share with you some of my perspective. I have been a long time Steem user over the past 4 years and have never been more excited than I am now for the community. Its moving in a direction it should have long ago...in my opinion Hive will be the worlds first truly decentralized blockchain based social media network and it will be launching this (3/20/2020) morning at 7AM PST. HIVE will be airdropped 1:1 to all Steem accounts.

Steem will finally be freeing itself entirely from the centralized controlling stake of Steemit inc. Personally I've always had an issue with the 60 million+ Steemit Inc stake and that's what kept me away from taking a larger investment position in the network. Tomorrow after the community fork that stake will finally be gone. The development of the Hive Network and its ecosystem will be sustained via the DHF; Decentralized Hive Fund. The Hive Social Network will enable users to post and share content that is stored in a decentralized manner. This will enable people to share and voice an opinion online that no 3rd party can censor or control. During these perilous times on our planet a free network like this is needed more than ever. Centralized platforms like Facebook have been increasingly censoring our free speech. They have been hindering humanities ability to reach its full potential online. The Hive Network will enable humans to communicate, collaborate and share content in a truly free and decentralized manner.

HIVE is a fork of the Steem blockchain with no central company behind it. 100% open source community backed without the Steemit inc corporate controlling stake. This is history in the making folks and over the next few weeks I expect massive developments in this blockchain based social media sector to occur. hive.io , hive.blog #hivemind

Just because both crypto and the stock market crashed during a global pandemic that does not mean they are suddenly correlated.

    Posted: 20 Mar 2020 09:00 AM PDT

Crypto is non-correlating to the stock market. It is NOT a negative correlating to the stock market.

Negative correlation to the stock market would mean bitcoin goes up when the stock market goes down. That is not the case for crypto and the stock market, for the most part they make moves independently but sometimes have correlation during a major events like a global pandemic. In this case a global event has caused almost ALL markets to crash. The only safe haven would be negative correlating assets of which crypto is not.

Overall crypto fundamentals have not changed. Once the panic is over expect the fundamentals to be a driving factor of price. See these fundamental reports on digital assets: https://cryptoeq.io/articlesAndReports

Can smart contracts be developed to create large pools of money that can be used for a common goal?

    Posted: 20 Mar 2020 01:59 PM PDT

I've been thinking about this for a while. Is it possible to write some sort of smart contract that safely enables let's say 100,000 people to pool $100 in a crypto that is then transferred to an exchange to buy a massive stake in a company and subsequently sell that stock and convert back at an agreed upon gain? Or anything like that?

Maybe I'm an idiot but I'm just having a little uprising-of-the-99%-fantasy, sorry.
