Please can we let bitcoin cash community be more than a "we hate bitcoin core" movement.

I get that censorship is bad but there has to be some kind of control over the exact same thing being said over and over.

This week the entire market has tanked and all I've seen are posts saying " HAHAA BTC ISNT A STORE OF VALUE". We get it! People who said BTC is digital gold look stupid. We don't need to scream it at eachother, every hour of everyday.

Surely there are more interesting things to talk about.

Some really great discussion happens in r/btc but the majority of memes and viral posts are us just hating on bitcoin. From the outside looking in it looks so unwelcoming, which is the opposite of what we want. It pains me to say anything positive about r/bitcoin, it really does. But at the very least they look to be all having a good time sharing non hateful memes most of the time, which from the perspective of a noob, can look really appealing. Maybe we can adapt our approach and admit that maybe we could be more welcoming and less agressive in general.

"Everybody moved into cash. Imagine if it had been an electronic cash. (Appropriately titled, developed, spent, and adopted as such) At peak fear, we got a glimpse of a future where #BTC is a mere collectible. Intangible, nor a medium exchangeable for real goods and services."

Bitcoin Core deserves to be slammed

For their lying, cheating, stealing, censorship and idiotic economic and business policies that delayed the world wide adoption of crypto by at least half a decade!

Ran NeuNer: "Ok, I’m going to ask it, even though I know you won’t like it... If Bitcoin is not a store of value , a “digital gold” or non correlated asset and it hasn’t scaled as a peer to peer cash system.... what is it?"

I hope this massive failure as a 'store-of-value during uncertain times' for Bitcoin finally shatters the illusion and we can move on to what Bitcoin was originally created for...to be USED

    Posted: 13 Mar 2020 02:05 PM PDT

I really hope this is it, the event that shatters Bitcoin as we know it, and allows the coins with actual utility to grow into their deserved positions. Whether it be BCH, ETH, NANO, ZCASH, DASH, whatever. I am just so tired of the fake Bitcoin success that is based almost solely on price speculation, and not actual usability.

The silver lining of this massive economic downturn is that maybe we can get a reset, and reallocate the misplaced value of Bitcoin into REAL P2P cash and digital currency options.

Thankfully, I sold all my crypto a while ago, because I knew Bitcoin had to collapse at some point. I hope this collapse continues, and the floor opens up for coins to legitimately increase in value based on their utility and use...not just speculation.

    Is btc Core constipated?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2020 03:19 PM PDT

I am sure of one fact: BCH is much more close to be a 100% P2P Electronic Cash than BTC being a 1% store of value. BTC is lost in an limbo, where it is not a P2P Electronic Cash neither a Store of Value, just being a wannabe. Identity problems?

    This wallet is watching only

    Posted: 14 Mar 2020 01:45 AM PDT

I have a paper wallet with money on it from a bitcoin ATM

I installed Electrum on my pc I added my public key

(Under where it says history) I click on my balance (the thing that makes the whole thing highlight blue) And I click on wallet > private keys > sweep

I enter my private key After I am done typing in my private key I click on "sweep" and

A small window appears and it says "This wallet is watching-only. This means you will not be able to spend Bitcoins with it. Make sure you own the seed phrase or the private keys, before you request Bitcoins to be sent to this wallet." This happens wether I manually type(or paste) the private key and scan the private qr code

I have the private key and I know I typed it in correctly. Am I doing something wrong? Please help

Thought: Buy some BCH while it's low and mentally reserve it for adoption.

    Posted: 13 Mar 2020 08:46 AM PDT

You can't be in crypto without thinking about gains, but I think we are missing a big opportunity and it just takes a little shift in mindset.

Right now, if you bought 1 BCH for the intent to share with new users like we did in the old BTC days, you could give someone 0.1bch and it would cost you about $20. Pretty neat, it gets people interested. If you're doing this don't stop because we need to build now AND later.

But, if you set one aside for the future (say bch @10k), that same $20 out of your pocket now ends up as $1000 in a new users pocket. $1000 or more can be life-changing money for a lot of people, and you better believe they will remember BCH because of it.

When BTC blew up in 2017 I saw a lot of jealousy and thus skepticism because people felt like they were left out. We can prepare to overcome that by making the growth of BCH a positive experience.

If you had the chance to change someone's life for $20, would you do it?

The Value Proposition of BTC was just Slaughtered by COVID19

    Posted: 13 Mar 2020 01:28 PM PDT

How could BTC be viewed as safe haven or uncorrelated asset now? All BTC demonstrated is that it is the most liquid speculative asset in crypto. Liquidity is important, but let's face it, the value proposition of btc being a store of value was completely slaughtered by corona. BTC was exposed for what it is-- an expensive nearly useless shit coin. I can't wait for this coin and the garbage pail kids associated with it to fade into irrelevancy and memes.
