How will etherum 2.0 handle size of the blockchain?

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 01:12 PM PST

I heard that ethereum 2.0 wants to eventually scale to be able to accommodate as many transactions as current custodial methods that use the dollar such as visa, MasterCard, etc. But to accomplish this it seems like it would massively increases the size of the block chain.

What are some reasonable solutions to this problem, are they banking on Moore's law in the long term future or is there another way?

    Thanks

    Kyber Network KNC

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 05:19 PM PST

I am continuing post my "Crypto of the Day", to help to promote discussion and ideas, and also to help myself and others learn more.

Clearly, no one can predict the future, and nothing here should be taken as financial advice. However, I am sure there are some valuable personal opinions out there, and there is definitely an entertainment value in reading stuff like this.

Regarding the crypto of the day, Kyber Network (KNC), I am curious of the following...

    Currently selling at $0.54.

Please post if you have any financial predictions for this project for; the next month, the end of 2020, the end of 2021, the end of 2025. I know most of you avoid this part, and that is fine. It is near impossible to predict how numbers will play out within such a volatile market.

What percent of your portfolio is this project currently?

What should we all know, good, bad, and indifferent, about this project?

It seems people are likely to post the positive in each project, but please remember that critical insight is just as useful.

I know this one is new to Coinbase, but I am curious what your thoughts are so far...

Ultra - A NFT based steam competitor backed fully by AMD

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 01:20 AM PST

Ultra to put it simply, is not just planning to be a steam competitor but a one stop shop for all of gaming.

Now before you say no one can can compete with steam, especially some small company, know this: AMD is fully backing them and is designing their processor to integrate a Crypto UOS wallet and an option to install Ultra when installing a new AMD cpu or graphics card. AMD has millions of customers and are going to push Ultra to all of them the same way windows pushes Internet Explorer

AMD has a page referencing Ultra on their website.

Ubisoft and AMD employees hang around in the ultra TG, chiming in here and there. No other crypto has that sort of support.

List of things Ultra is trying to accomplish:

    • A digital Game store like Steam, and providing more ownership for your games by turning all games into an NFT that you completely own. You can transfer this game to other stores, sell it to other people, you own it completely. (NFTs are game items like fortnite skins, or weapon games or could be actual games too)

    • An ebay for NFTs and to sell second hand digital games. (Devs get a percentage of each sale of item NFTS and Games NFTS). UOS needs to be staked to create NFTS.

    • Integrated Esports, streaming and social media features

    • An intergrated optional miner to automatically mine whatever coin and convert to uos, all with the click of a button (everything happens in the background), also ability to watch ads for Ultra.

    • An eco system revolving around UOS, UOS will be used as payment for everything. The user uses their debit card to buy something on ultra, its automatically converted to UOS, percentage given to devs, devs can use a percentage of sales for advertising on Ultra, another percentage to pay streamers to pay and another to send the rest to their bank account in dollars. They can have all this automated.

The user will only ever see the dollar amount in their wallet, they won't know they are using UOS.

    • Big focus on streamers, refferal systems where they get a cut of sales for advertising games or special items for their fans ( will depend on what developers want to offer).

    • There's a whole lot more stuff but these are the basic things they are doing.

    • The blockchain is based on EOS, but they forked it so they can control it. Instead of miners, you have block producers. The current block producers announced include: ULTRA, UBISOFT, AMD, EOS FOUNDATION, BITINFEX, will be at least 21. Reduces any collusion because the reputation of these companies is on the line. Brand integrity is very important.

    WHY ULTRA?

    -10 Million Market Cap

    • Relatively Unknown Gem, going to go all out on marketing when the beta is released in Mid Q2.

    • Working With AMD and Ubisoft. When you get a free game when purchasing a AMD processor, they will have the option to install Ultra and redeem the game on their. The same way when you get a computer the first time and it makes you install Internet explorer. AMD is really going all out in supporting Ultra.

    • Hired high up people who used to work at Blizzard, Former CTO of Time Warner, Gaming director of Apple and Google and a few more. Competant and ever expanding team, the blockchain is based on EOS but they have basically forked it and made their own.

    • Beta is being used by the partners (AMD UBISOFT) and they are happy with what they see saw far. They wanted it delayed so all of the features were properly ready, and they could announce everything with a bang. Learning fron Epic stores mistakes.

Beta will be released to us in Q2. Full launch Q3.

Like I said this is just a brief overview there's more features I haven't mentioned, its very ambitious but the Beta is almost ready. They have been working for 3 years quietly in the background.

    More info can be found:

    In these Telegram groups:

    @ultra_io @ultrasecret

When all of this comes to fruition without any hiccups, which is very likely as they have very experienced people working on this, then a 1 billion market cap is easily achievable.

The gaming market is massive and Gamers love new things. NFTs will revolutionise gaming making it more consumer friendly by giving people more ownership of their digital items. It will be the first ecosystem to be properly mass adopted and will happen almost instantly due to AMD pushing it to millions of customers. 1 billion market cap is honestly a very conservative prediction, it will easily surpass Bitcoin when taking into account how much gamers spend.

So the aim of it would be that no central authority could take down your website. Even if it is something immoral.

Anyone aware of any projects that are working on this?

Some useful links would also be appreciated.

    Thx
