Vocdoni wants to make secure voting easy and accessible using decentralized technologies

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 07:46 AM PST

    Hello!

I'm Ferran Reyes, Community&Communication Lead at Vocdoni! Feel free to ask me regarding this project :)

Vocdoni is a project lead by people from different countries to build an open toolset for universally verifying voting using decentralized technologies. All the technology is released as free opensource and intended as a commons infrastructure.

    Summary:

    • Vocdoni is building an open toolset for universally verifying voting using decentralized technologies.
    • Vocdoni is using technologies like Ethereum, zkSnarks, Tendermint, and IPFS to cast, count and validate the votes.
    • Vocdoni is also developing a governance platform that can be used from a smartphone.
    • The toolkit is released as free and open-source
    • The toolkit can be used by third parties as a secure and universally verifiable voting layer and is open to building apps and services on top of it.
    • Vocdoni is starting a closed Beta this month and is looking for organizations. Fill the form!
    • Vocdoni is participating in the Gitcoin's Quadratic matching round 4 that starts this 6th of January.

Don't miss our first post explaining our motivation and what we are building:

Needing advice for best method to move my ETH investment off of Robinhood into a stake able wallet.

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 12:29 AM PST

Yah, that's pretty much the problem. Robinhood is not the best place to buy or trade crypto. Ahh the mistakes of youth ( last year). I have well above the needed 32 Eth required and read that Coinbase is planning on supporting stakeholders.

Now I need to somehow move that investment off of Robinhood over to CB without losing value. But other trading portals don't deal with RB and likewise RB doesn't play nice with others.

So my first strategy would be let the price go up and then sell, allow the week plus needed to move funds back into my bank. Wait for price of ETH to dip then re-buy back in with another exchange such as Coinbase.

Have any of you good folks had this problem? Any better methods out there I should look into? I can't be the one and only who has had this problem with RB.

    Please and thank you!

How much Ethereum should one hold in the ledger nano wallet for future transactions of ERC20 tokens?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 11:26 AM PST

    Hi,

I hold some ERC-20 tokens on ledger nano and currently I am unable to withdraw due to no Ethereum to pay the gas fees. As I understood, depositing some Ethereum to my Ledger nano wallet is the only way to solve this issue. The question is what is the recommended amount of Ethereum that one should hold to pay gas fees of ERC-20 tokens in the future? Thanks

How to view raw data of blocks?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 07:53 AM PST

Is there a site where I can view the block/transaction raw data? How they are actually added to the block chain.

    Funding cut for internal teams

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 11:33 PM PST

    Hello all,

This article quotes an internal team lead who says that, starting this year, funding to her team and presumably other teams will be cut.

Then, a couple of other private entities are throwing their hat in the ring, offering funding for these teams.
