I found an old wallet and recovery.txt file, but I'm clueless what to do. Posted: 30 Nov 2019 09:38 PM PST The files are from 2013 and I don't have a clue if there is even a balance. I don't even remember what currency it was for or what the wallet belongs to. I ran PyWallet but it didn't really clarify anything for me - I think it may be LiteCoin but I'm still stuck - what now? How do I actually get into the wallet or better yet how do I figure out what wallet the recovery code is even for? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Nov 2019 10:41 AM PST Today, in about 30 minutes or less from now, RandomX will be activated on Monero as part of its network protocol upgrade, so this seems like a good moment to share this timeline. It's like the raw material for writing the history of ASIC resistant proof-of-work algorithms. If you think it's incomplete, let me know what you'd like to add. I didn't include Monero ASICs or FPGAs that weren't publicly released, since it would be difficult to pin down a date. BTC vs BCH (Roger Ver Being Such a Douche May Be Blinding Me) Posted: 30 Nov 2019 03:03 PM PST Currently I am a bit of a BTC maximalist thinking that it is likely the play for more institutional investors, but BCH just seems to be better for use/scale with very adequate security. I really dislike Roger Ver though and considering he is the main voice evangelizing BCH I find it hard to convince myself to buy. Am I being blinded by my ire towards one individual from missing a solid investment or is BCH just as scummy as the man who supports it. [link] [comments]
Virgil Griffith ARRESTED - FORBES Posted: 30 Nov 2019 11:21 PM PST U.S. Authorities Arrest Virgil Griffith For Teaching Cryptocurrency And Blockchain I write about blockchain regulation and policy. According to a press release from the Department of Justice on November 29, 2019, Virgil Griffith, resident of Singapore and U.S. citizen, was arrested for a criminal complaint where he was charged with violating, "…the International Emergency Economic Powers Act ("IEEPA") by traveling to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea ("DPRK" or "North Korea") in order deliver a presentation and technical advice on using cryptocurrency and blockchain technology to evade sanctions. /-/-/-/***** I appreciate spreading the word but this is kind of ludicrous. Why on Earth would you want to give that nuke country more power so they can build more nukes? They already have enough middles to obliterate every country around them including China, and Russia. Sure they are not likely to succeed in that but it's likely we will have to spend more money preventing it. Bastard . [link] [comments]

USA is in good company it seems Posted: 30 Nov 2019 06:33 AM PST So I tried to access SideShift to swap Lightning BTC for BTC and this is the error message I got: Go USA you almost beat North Korea! Clearly you are in good company. A true paragon of leadership. :( [link] [comments]

Google authenticator and dead phone Posted: 30 Nov 2019 04:21 AM PST I use Google authenticator for all of my 2fa purposes. My phone recently died and cannot be turned on. This is quite the issue as I cannot login to coinbase, etc. Has anyone had this issue before? It can't be that uncommon considering people lose their phones all the time. How can I get all of my old Google authenticator tokens on my new phone and authenticator app? [link] [comments] |
