Posted: 31 Oct 2019 07:50 AM PDT We're excited to reveal what we have been working on for the past year - IDEX 2.0! IDEX 2.0 features a new UI/UX and combines an off-chain matching engine with a unique layer-2 smart contract settlement system, Optimized Optimistic Rollup (O2 rollup), to enable scaling to hundreds of thousands of transactions per second. Over the last 2 years, IDEX has been one of the most successful applications on Ethereum, and we have taken everything we've learned and applied it to IDEX 2.0. We'd love for you to dig in and give feedback, or just ask questions in general! Please see the links below for more information.

Time to increase max gas per block again! Posted: 31 Oct 2019 03:12 PM PDT Since we will be waiting for EIP 1559 for a while yet, it would be nice to get another 50% boost in Max gas, with perhaps more after Instanbul. State growth will only go up a little, since blocks will likely be less full, but the user experience of confirmation time will improve substantially. The primary benefit of doing this are (1) much greater burst capacity (2) preventing congestion issues proactively and (3) demonstrating continued scalability of 1.x Upvote this if you agree. Conversations with Linzhi about ProgPoW Posted: 31 Oct 2019 12:58 PM PDT ASIC manufacturer and anti-ProgPoW advocate Linzhi requested in a tweet and a blog that I write up why I feel they have lied or made me feel pressured. I wrote up a comprehensive history of my interactions with Linzhi in this GitHub repository: https://github.com/Souptacular/linzhi Reminders: I am not for or against ProgPoW and this post (and the things in the repository link posted above) do not reflect the viewpoints of the Ethereum Foundation. Video on how to check transactions to an Ethereum address with web3.js in nodejs Posted: 31 Oct 2019 10:33 AM PDT I have created a video on how to check all transactions to a given Ethereum address in real time, using web3.js. Check it out if you're interested! I would appreciate any feedback or questions. [link] [comments]

Meet the people shaping the crypto movement on Pepo - a layer 2 social media app Posted: 31 Oct 2019 11:29 AM PDT Hi all, I wanted to share with you all the Pepo app. Pepo is a TikTok like app, currently in beta, that aims brings the blockchain community together. On Pepo you will find short 30 second video clips from builders, creators, and influencers within the community. On Pepo, every "like" is pegged to a Pepo token (social currency), which is backed by OST. So every time a user likes video they are transferring 1 Pepo token to the creator (about 1 cent). Currently users can cash out their Pepo tokens for gift cards (Amazon, Netflix, AirBnB, etc), cashout options will be expanded upon in the future as regulatory clarity and development continues. I've had a couple weeks now to fool around with the app and can tell you the UX is slick. The ability to buy Pepo tokens from the google play store or iOS is incredibly simple and I believe to be one of the most fricitonless onramps to crypto that I am ware of. With already more than 1000 users from the blockchain projects across the world, Pepo is quickly climbing dapp rankings and currently sits at #19 on The State of Dapps. If you would like to try Pepo, you will be provided you with 500 free Pepo tokens for signing up (about $5). Here is a code to to sign up if you are interested in trying out Pepo: CMX43H (TRANSPARENCY: referral code - the only way to sign up in beta) [link] [comments]

To those that have platforms that use ETH for payments: can you please support NANO as well? Posted: 31 Oct 2019 07:18 AM PDT For example, a Fiverr-like platform with no fees and payment through NANO/ETH only is badly needed. No old-eco-damaging-tech Bitcoin, no infinite fantasy fiat money, nothing else, just NANO, ETH, maybe Ethereum tokens too. As a long-time user of Ethereum, I must say that the fee setting process is bothersome. Having to check https://ethgasstation.info beforehand is time-consuming, and among the wallets used by me - the only wallet that seems to be setting the fees correctly is MyCrypto (if you go with the slider all the way down). NANO doesn't have enough developers in the ecosystem, Ethereum has a crap-ton, and it already has so many running platforms as well. If they'd implement NANO too, it would be great. Thank you! And no, I'm not asking for this just because I feel "invested" into NANO. The reality is that it's an amazing technology for payments, like nothing else that we've ever had. I feel good when making payments with it, and the receivers feel the same way. Sub-second transactions, no fees, no centralization pressure, etc. [link] [comments]

How is dynamic content such as ipfswapper.eth & ensmanager.matoken.eth served via IPFS and ENS? Posted: 31 Oct 2019 12:03 PM PDT Hello, How do websites such as ipfswapper.eth and ensmanager.matoken.eth appear to be able to host dynamic content in IPFS? The content on these websites is clickable with dropdowns, buttons, and input fields. How can this be given it is served with IPFS? Would someone please explain to me how this is possible and potentially how it was set up? Anyone who would point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! :) [link] [comments]
