Why does Cryptokitties ask for email and how is it stored?

    Posted: 13 Sep 2019 04:51 PM PDT

Is Cryptokitties storing the requested email on chain? Public? Why do they even ask for it?

Can validator nodes / beacon chains be determined at the network peer level? How many of these nodes might exist if the current node count were running Eth 2.0?

    Posted: 13 Sep 2019 01:42 PM PDT

I'm curious about scenarios where beacon / validator nodes are targeted and attacked and how the network should theoretically resist it, how it might affect transactions on that shard chain, etc.

My terminology might be off -- apologies, just looking to learn.

I've created and just released an Ethereum based forum

    Posted: 13 Sep 2019 05:22 PM PDT

Who knows if it's a good idea, but I needed a little project while learning the stack.

Try it out if you want on ebbs.social

It's all open source software naturally, so feel free to dive in. Post content, votes, replies, and admin settings, it's all stored on the forum contract. So you can run the UI from anywhere as there is no additional server back-end needed.

ETH Wallet for Linux Laptop Computer

    Posted: 13 Sep 2019 09:22 AM PDT

I have an extra laptop that has Ubuntu 18.04 on it. 4th gen i5 processor, 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD. I'd like to put an ETH wallet on that computer. I want the private keys to be stored on the laptop and I'd prefer a separate application instead of a browser plugin. Basically, I'm looking for the ETH equivalent of the Bitcoin Core software but without having the full ETH blockchain stored on my laptop. Suggestions?

Can pending transactions be "rebroadcast" or "double spent"?

    Posted: 13 Sep 2019 12:45 PM PDT

    Solved

I realize this isn't r/bitcoin, but it is my only point of reference... apologies.

If I have a TXN that is "stuck" in ethereum, can I just make another transaction spending those same funds? Would the network accept this competing transaction? In bitcoin this would be called RBF, but I suspect ethereum doesn't have the concept of UTXOs like bitcoin does.

    Thoughts?
