I will match the next $100 in donations for the SLP Hackathon

    Posted: 14 Sep 2019 05:20 AM PDT

I saw the SLP hackathon and it seems like a great idea. The more people play with with SLP tokens the better.

I just contributed $25 and will match up to the next $100 in BCH donations done today Sat Sept 14 (I know it's not a lot, but every little bit helps I think). The BCH donation address is bitcoincash:qrt3uv558x4w4mxwjl4p5wj8ex3fgfqytsf2nxj04w which you can confirm on the site.

SLP could add amazing new use cases to BCH and I'm happy to contribute to help support a hackathon with a bigger prize pool. Which will hopefully encourage more people to participate. It started at $2,000 and is now slightly higher.

If this donation matching catches on, anyone feel free to continue matching after my $100.

    From the SLP site:

Just a couple of suggestions for inspiration. Don't hesitate to try something new!

    • On-chain voting for proposals
    • New methods for transferring coins to friends
    • Products which showcase the frictionless-ness of bch chain
    • SLP performance, do a lot of SLP transactions
    • Token specific wallet
    • SLP tipping bot
    • NFT collectibles
    • On-chain Games

Edit: Good question by /u/cypher437 - Whats SLP?

It's short for Simple Ledger Protocol (SLP) that allows token on Bitcoin Cash. These are similar to ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum.

It's a new and emerging technology on BCH which has quite a lot of exciting implications. You can take a look at the project's homepage https://simpleledger.cash/

Edit 2: Awesome work everyone! I just sent in $45 to match the 8 donations in the past few hours. $55 of matching remains

Edit 3: A little over $61 matched so far, which I'm super happy about. Remember everything moves slowly at first until momentum is built.

Experience with Paxful Credit/Debit Card Payment?

    Posted: 14 Sep 2019 09:22 PM PDT

Hi there! Been a lurker for awhile, but been an avid purchaser of BTC for a few years.

I usually purchase BTC via something like Coinbase (as much as I despise some of their practices) but am currently in a situation where I require BTC shortly, and can't wait for the currency to be traded/withdrawn within Coinbase.

I've used Paxful a few times before with success, but just noticed that they offer credit/debit/bank withdrawals, and was curious what that experience is like, if it even works. I looked around and couldn't find anything specific, but if Reddit's search function makes me look like an idiot, I'm sorry in advance.

Thanks so much, and I'm sorry if this has been answered before.
