    Edit: I can't find any livestream or VOD information about DappCon and I'm here right now. Maybe VODs will come after the event?

    I feel like I haven't seen anything on this subreddit about all the great events happening in Berlin right now.

    Why would you ever lock up your ETH in a CDP when you have to pay 20% interest on the DAI issued? Is the only reason to gain leverage and just reinvest into ETH or another Crypto asset you're bullish on? I guess I feel like it would make sense if the stability fee were much lower (3% or something like that) because you could theoretically invest in something else that paid an interest rate of say 5%. In that case you would be holding all your ETH and able to invest DAI at 5% and owe back 3% to unlock your eth, netting you 2% on your DAI.

    Can someone walk me through a couple of examples with round numbers?

    MakerDAO trademarked "DeFi".

    Should "DeFi" belong to the community (as the continued decentralized finance movement) or to MakerDAO as a legally enforceable, potentially immortal monopoly?

    Note that unlike other forms of IP, trademarks operate in a manner where the owner must police/enforce it to prevent genericide, consumer confusion, or dilution.

    I'm interested in learning from rational arguments for and against.

    Notably, Ethereum Foundation also has trademarked "Ethereum" and "Ether", so that's a side discussion.

    Found on the USPTO. Note that wordmarks are always all caps. Therefore it follows that \"#DeFi\" and \"DeFi\" are monopolized, at least in online currency marketplaces and similar goods and services.
